I sort of like the stock 6MT shift lever height but want to reduce the throw, does anyone have experience with the hypershift short shifter from Stratmosphere? It looks so easy to install and it is well priced, I thought it may be a good option.

I had it on my B7 set @ 20% reduction, it was great for the price. Install was fairly straight-forward but I didn't have all the tools needed. Shop charged me 30 mins for labour.

It did take some adjusting to get the shifts aligned but for the price compared to other kits, definitely worth it.

Look at the JHM shifter as it not only shortens the shifting, but replaces much of the plastic that makes the shifter feel spongy. I understand that EuroCode is also working on a "solid" shifter. Of course both of these are a bit more expensive than the Strat option.

^ yea I was thinking about replacing the whole thing, I need to read up on how to take apart the center console to get the stock one out.

JHM has a nice video on their site. I think the strat one is installed under the car by removing the heat shield. This one is done from inside the car. I have had mine in the box waiting for install for a month. I need to find the time to install it. I know people using the JHM shifter on older generations of S4s and they love it. There is a lot of plastic on the stock mechanism that they replace. I should make the time to do it today. I am sick of the long shifts and crap feel.

I installed the Stratmospher Hypershift on my 2012 6MT about 2 months / 2,000 miles ago. Impressive build quality. And, it was very easy to install on ramps in my garage (about 15 minutes to install... 5 minutes to adjust after driving). No need to disassemble the interior console, either. The throws are much shorter and feel very direct compared to stock. I don't have experience with the JHM shifter other than hearing good things as well, but I can say the Stratmosphere is well worth the price. Don't hesitate!
