Anyone planning to go on this run? [drive]

SCC Mulholland to Malibu Drive Woodland Hills, CA - 8:30 AM Feb. 18, 2012 Saturday

Just registered today and is $0.00 fees.

Saturday February 18: The Mulholland-Malibu Drive

Initially, we meander along the Mulholland Highway (circa 1925) through the Santa Monica Mountains but the route diverts us onto several remote and technical by-ways with breath-taking, scenic vistas overlooking the Pacific Ocean… even to Channel Islands (depending on visibility). Included is the mighty Yerba Buena leg considered one of the best technical drives in Southern California. Along this remote, very tight, 12 mile menagerie of 188 successive turns, most fauna is endangered.

Automakers frequently make use Yerba Buena to shoot television commercials.

The drive includes Latigo Canyon Road, the quintessential canyon road with 166 turns, going inland from the beach. Despite it's degree of technicality, it's much easier to drive than the Yerba Buena.

Turning South just this side of Ventura Co. line, you’ll enjoy the grandeur of Pacific Coast Highway two times before the final turn inland to climb to our casual lunch spot where you can recount today’s Audi experiences.

IMPORTANT: Passengers AND drivers susceptible to motion sickness are strongly advised to take Dramamine or equivalent.

MEET/TIMETABLE: *Shopping Center parking lot at 23351 Mulholland Drive, Woodland Hills. Arrive/ Sign-in 8:30 –9:00 am. Mandatory driver’s briefing 9:05 am. First group out 9:15 followed by 2nd group. We will try to stay on this schedule.

*101 Fwy Exit 29, Mulholland Drive/Valley Circle Blvd Woodland Hills CA. Observe all roadway markings to ensure LEGAL left turn into shopping center… Heavy Police enforcement… You may make LEGAL U-turn in 0.5 mile @ Deseret Drive

To anyone doing this, be smart on Latigo.

I have a run I've already committed to on the 18th that involves some of the same routes. Might see you guys.

Dang! I have been waiting for a run that was close to my area, and this is perfect. Unfortunatly I will be in Tokyo that week. Take photos so I can see what I missed.

latigo easier than yerba buena...idk. latigo being a 1 lane cyn and yerba buena having the shitty roads, i stay away from both.

Thats no joke, I totaled a car and shattered my ankle on latigo back in 2005. Dont think you are superman or your magic Audi Quattro can save you from any road conditions, anything can happen. You can control your car but not the outside environment or other drivers around you so drive like evryone around you is on crack. AKA drive defensively!
