Hi guys, I have a friend with a 2009 A3 who would like to purchase one full size (17") rim in order to replace her current spare. Does anyone know where the best (i.e. cheap [;)]) place in San Diego would be to go for this?

Thanks!

Likely the best place is going to be through the dealer. Sad, but true.

Check the classifieds, though. With all of us looking to dump stockers after upgrades, you never know what you'll find.

Thanks guys! Yea, I'll probably just recommend she go look down in the Chula Vista junk yard. Going through the dealer would seem to be a bit much for just a spare, although for some reason she wants it to look exactly like her main set of wheels - because it looks better. My girlfriend said she agreed with that. Not quite sure I understand as I figured a spare was just to get you to a shop to fix your original tire/wheel and get that one back on, who cares what it looks like? But hey each to their own [:)]

I am a bit up north from you in Simi Valley but have a practically new spare with new tire that I do not need. Let me know if the Junk yard doesnt work out.
