I just got the 2.0T, I was wondering if it is safe to install an hks bov into my engine. I was told that it is safe as long as it is hooked back up to the intake. Is this true?

If it plumbs back into the intake, I don't see why not. Any reason you don't just run a normal BPV? If it's for the sound, it's not worth it. An EVO DV sounds nice with an intake.

Take a read of this article on VWVortex:

Good technical stuff (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1422108&page=1)

If I read that correctly....

"DV is electrically operated and attached directly to compressor stator, so no more DV diaphragm rupture BS or hose leak!"

This engine, if I read that correctly, is definetly not designed to use a BOV.

Personally I never understood why people installed BOVs on a 1.8T.....

i am running a GFB bov/bpv in my B7 right now...the sound is wayyy softer than my B6s and doesn't even blow-off at low RPMS...

...because the sound is sick as hell...had it in my 2002 B6 and the 2005 B6 as well. so yah, had to get one for my B7 no doubt...

Read that link I posted in my reply above, the ones for the 1.8T will not work for the 2.0T.... the diverter valve is now electronically controlled and I don't think it's a part you can easily replaced now.
