is it possible to get this put in the car after already receiving it? The stock speakers just aren't cutting it.

Its a lot more than just the speakers, it's the amp, the fiber optic (digital) interface between the stereo head unit and the amp, as well as DSP (Digital Signal Processing)

Possible, yes...(but guess it depends on your current options and will take some work i think)
Expensive, hell yes especially if you want to retrofit everything like grills etc...
Worth it, guess not as in the end the B&O (low) isn't that spectacular. The B&O high end might be more a winner, but that means even more $$$$ and most speakers with enclosures (what makes it better) won't fit our doors/car.
You might be better of with sticking with your current setup and upgrade your speakers individually untill you get a price/quality balance.
It was Stubek if not mistaken that upgraded some speakers/tweeters in his car (had B&O) with good results.
You might want to look into that.
Subwoofer mods have been done aswell by many and depending on how to do it can be pretty cheap aswell.
Keep in mind, at least afaik, that 2011 model or was it even 2010 models come with passive speakers. But best is to check with a decent audio shop and let them do the magic.
Oh, isolating recent parts on the car (inner side doors, trunk etc...) can improve the sound quality aswell.

You're probably better off going aftermarket (seperates, amp and sub). With that said, those considering getting the B&O, I think it is well worth the extra coin up front.

You had a GTR for 800 bucks a month?! Like an R35? That is ridiculously cheap if it was! (I pay 1100/month for my S4 as my point of reference)

Not sure what you're referring to with the low and high comment...different systems? Or bass and treble? Confusimicated.

Some call it "high end" some "advanced" sound system...
Anyway, this should give you the specs a bit: http://www.bang-olufsen.com/audi
But like said, advanced system isn't offered for our cars (because most speaker enclosures they use don't fit in our car for example) and it is probebly overprized aswell compaired to aftermarket solutions. You pay a part for the design...
*But like proven, anything can be found cheap and integrated if you want it to be
B&O lens tweeters in my A4B8 (old wip picture though but grills been painted and properly installed now).

I was wondering the same since I have the audi system and it sounds crappy. Is there a sound forum that you guys would recommend to read on what are my alternatives to upgrading and what to upgrade?
Thanks

My base sound system doesn't sound so great either. The odd thing is that much of the problem is the muddy/boomy bass, and my understanding is that the subwoofer is the same in the base system and the B&O.
I'm considering either replacing the subwoofer and putting the B&O tweeters in the front doors myself (both of which are well-described on this forum, at a total cost of maybe $200), or going for a professional subwoofer and speaker upgrade, which would probably be $1000 (or more).

Guys, the Audi Concert system with B&O speakers in my car is nothing but
a Panasonic radio and an amp at back.
If i were to upgrade the speakers i would put Dynaudios or Infinitys IMHO.
Read on the A4 forums, multiple users have upgraded, just get the correct
specs.

DIYMA.com is a good site for info on custom sound systems. Not many builds for B8's but still better than nothing.
I'm glad mine came with B&O but I don't think it would be worth it to add after the fact. The cost of OEM parts and MMI programming would probably shoot you up to the $2k mark if not more.
You could integrate a really nice system for less than that.
With the non-B&O setup it would be very easy to integrate a DSP (Bit1, MS8) and upgrade speakers/amps. You can grab analog line out signal from the stock amp and send that to the DSP.
It's much more expensive if you have the B&O and want to add aftermarket. Requires an expensive digital integration unit like the Mobridge. That's on top of the other gear you'd need like the DSP and speakers/amps.
Best part about our cars - 8" mid/woofer in door! You can get some kickass 8" speakers.
You could also put tweeters in the factory door sails and put 3" midranges in the factory dash positions.
The car is really setup for good sound. You just need to pop in the right equipment and do some tuning.
