Looking forward to the Stage 2 numbers which may not come out till mid to late Jan and I am sure APR will come out with the updated version around that time as well. This is nice, we have lots of time keep up with the testing I am in no hurry to jump the gun I am sure we all want it now but we can wait for Revo and Giac to come out with their best product tested because tracks wont be open for most of us till spring =)

Is this done in-car as in direct port programing or does the ECU still have to be removed for bench flash ? Not a huge difference since all this can be done at the local Premiere Revo dealer, which is already a big plus over APR and maybe GIAC (release pending), but I will still like to know just for academic purposes. Thanks.

Yes sir!
We should have someone up and running by this time next week (or sooner).
Anyone with serious interest in Canada is encouraged to PM me and I'll send them an e-mail voucher that will allow for a 30-day extension on the "Winter Sale" price *AS WELL AS* guarantee them a FREE SPS unit.
We did have over 50 cars flashed just before the New Year, so the FREE SPS promotion has run out.
I do realize that this is sort of unfair to those north of the border who didn't have the same easy access to the product as here in the continental 48 states, so I will extend the same promotion to the first 15 Canadian customers who show a genuine interest in being flashed before Friday - Feb. 3rd.
Hope this helps!

How much for the tune for Canadians?
RevoTechnik-GM

Retail is $1199.
Winter Sale Price (extended) is $1099.
The FREE Serial Port Switch (SPS) is also an additional $199 value.
So you end up fully loaded and switchable for $1099 (USD) plus whatever you standard sales tax rate is in Canada.
For those of you not within driving distance to the Premier Dealer, you can still ship ECU's to them for unlocking/flashing without having to cross any borders!

Officially "unofficial"...
Call the boys at EuroCode in Torrance, CA.
These guys are hands down the most experience and knowledgeable in Southern California for the B8 Audi S4.
They are also currently offering SAME DAY FLASHING service for the 3.0 TFSI Supercharged Simos 8 ECU's.
Tell Dave or Greg that the Revo Technik General Manager referred you and they'll get you all sorted out with an appointment.

Nothing on Boston yet.
KMD is our only East Coast Premier Dealer so far.
We are taking recommendations though since we'd obviously prefer to select dealers that our customers know and respect. The qualifications to become a Premier Dealer are high, and we definitely want to ensure these are the "cream of the crop" to be able to guarantee the best possible service AND post sale support.

Danny at KMD will take great care of you!
what is this i see about a 5 hour trial software?
There is no 5 hour trial for the B8 S4.
We actually don't offer trail software for any of the applications that require removal of the ECU.
(it would be a lot to ask of our dealers, since it's at least an hour or more worth of labor to simply "test drive" the product)
Instead, we offer a full 30-day money back guarantee.
This offers you a much longer period of time to get familiar with the performance improvements, drive-ability, fuel economy, etc... before being fully committed to your decision.
We've actually NEVER had a single customer exercise their right to the money back guarantee because we delivery every bit of what we promise. Because of that record we felt it was easier to supply you with a permanent solution that can be removed at will, rather than a temporary solution that requires you to start from scratch once you decide you like it.
Hope that makes sense.

Okay just had my car Revo-tuned at JRP in Mississauga. Awesome guys, I was able to slip in on the extended special for Canada. I was the first car they did so took a bit longer than expected but future tunes should be in the 2hr range. Also awaiting shipment of the SPS device from Revo. Drive back was bumper to bumper so no driving impressions except it does seem a lot more eager. Call up JRP and ask for Shawn or Carson.
Edit: okay found a empty road and tried lc. Now launches at 3700rpm instead of 3000. Only gave it one try and it sort of bogged for a teeny bit before accelerating insanely. First time I felt the car lose traction at all 4 wheels!

On either Jan 26 or 27 I spoke to one of the guys there (I don't think it was Shawn or Carson) to get more details. They said they would need the car dropped off for the entire day just to make sure the process goes smoothly and to have an opportunity to call Revo if they encounter problems.
Its funny that pretty much the first phrase JRP guy answered with after I told him I was calling about B8 S4 tune, was "another one?? we are doing like 20 of these a day!"
He sounded serious, but my guess 20 a day is a bit optimistic especially since GolfGL said he was the first one to get flashed by JRP.
Revo announced JRP as their Toronto dealer on January 9th, did it take that long for them to implement a first tune on a customers car?
Regardless, its definitely nice to see first on-site tuning solution for our cars to land in Toronto. Hopefully others will follow soon.

Yeah it did take quite a while but it was mostly setting up the software on their laptop to run the REVO software. The actual flashing part was apparently pretty straighforward. They did say the next flash would take about 2 hours. During my email converstaion with them, someone did mention that they didn't have shear-bolts in stock for the 6MT cars, maybe thats how I ended up being first (stronic has normal bolts). But you are right, its good to have the flash capability here in Toronto - imagine if the program or ECU was messed up like the APR V2 beta-tester - you'd be without a car for weeks.

Really looking forward to a review. Where are you feeling most of the gains? Any impact on gas consumption, assuming this is your DD?

The gains are definitely up top in the RPM range as predicted by the power curves. Normal driving is much more responsive - Auto feels like Dynamic now. It is a bit difficult for me to articulate the exact change beyond that because this car is significantly more powerful than anything I've had in the past (even in stock form). In dynamic mode the power is quite overwhelming especially with winter tires and wet roads. As for gas consumption, under normal driving, the car still shifts under 2000 rpm so I don't expect much of a change. Obviously I'm hitting redline a bit more often so consumption has suffered consequently. Too early to tell though, I've only put on about 200km and the weather, traffic and temperature have changed significantly this week for the worse. Fwiw, my 60km drive to get chipped I averaged 7.9l/100km. Return trip was 9.1l/100km with a bit more traffic. I scanned for error codes yday and noticed that my readiness codes were not all completed - evaporative emissions showed a failed/incomplete. I think this is because the ECU was out and is now readapting. Will check again later this week to see if readiness is okay.
Thanks for the review. I am sure you are going to have fun with this.
Thinking about a tune myself but am waiting it out.

Don't mean to side track this thread, but I have to ask:
how do you manage to get those 7.9-9.1 l/100 km averages???
I'm guessing to go to JRP you took 427 to QEW or the 407, so that was mostly highway driving. Most of my driving is also highway, but my BEST EVER tank was 11.6 l/100 km which is 20.2 MPG.

Lol good questoin. My consumption has become significantly better since the 11,000/12,000KM mark. Even with the colder weather and slgihtly snowy roads, I'm getting better or equal mileage as in the summer. For this drive, I took 407 down to 400, 401 to 427 and then QEW. THre was a bit of snow and rain that morning so I was pretty impressed as well. S-tronic in 7th gear helps. My best tanks have been in the 10.5L/100km range (calculated, mixed city/hwy).

The single largest determining factor in fuel milage is your right foot. Doesn't matter the car or mods, how you drive it will always make the largest difference. My lifetime (5300 miles) average on the S4 is 21.4mpg (11.0l/10km) and best tank is 22.5mpg (10.5l/100km). I've haven't had a chance to do a full highway tank yet, so that's all mixed driving. If i were to slow down on the highway and stay away from redline on acceleration, I have no doubt this car could average 24-26mpg on a mixed tank and 28 or more on a pure highway tank. However, that's not why i bought the car, so i couldn't care less about it. When I had my TDI sportwagen, just dropping my average cruising speed on the highway from 75-80 to 65 took my tank averages from 39-40 to 43-45. It was boring as hell, though.
TLDR: if you want better mileage, slow down. boring.

No argument here. I definitely don't have conserving gas as my primary concern when I drive. The reason I was surprised at a large difference in consumption is that the other member just got a Revo tune so I thought spirited driving has to be one of his interests.
From what I saw here 19-21 MPG mixed driving is what lots of guys are getting here.
This being a Revo thread - anyone else got their ECU flashed at JRP in Mississauga and can speak about their experience?

Well over 100 flashes now, with 100% customer satisfaction.
On-Site dealer flashing is working perfectly, and all of our dealers are equipped and experienced enough now to get you in and out in under 2 hours.
Our February Flashing Days have also been a success, with a handful of new customers drawn from Audizine.
Thanks goes out to each of them for posting their initial impressions and reviews on this forum.
With only two stops left this month, we hope to see more of you Audiziners at KMD in New Jersey, and JRP in Mississauga, Ontario this coming weekend.
If you would like more information about how to make an appointment for these last two events, or would like to know when on-site flashing is coming to your region, feel free to send me a PM.

Thanks goes out to each of them for posting their initial impressions and reviews on this forum.
With only two stops left this month, we hope to see more of you Audiziners at KMD in New Jersey, and JRP in Mississauga, Ontario this coming weekend.

Straight from the shop to the strip!
I love that idea.
I'll be at JRP that weekend and Chris will be at KMD...
If it were the other way around I would have loved to come out and say hello, and bring along a car we flashed that same day.
