Exhaust tips farther out for less drone

For anyone who's done this for drone reduction from their exhaust, how well does it work?

works well. i only have experience with stasis though.

The tips wouldn't affect drone. Drone comes from the exhaust resonating/vibrating. It has very little to do with the sound coming out of the tailpipes.

As stupid as this may sound, it reduced the dba by a little in the cabin on my cat-back AWE SS. Although I didn't like the look so put it back. -.-

It works well but not as well as insulating your trunk. My custom turbo back exhaust already had the tips sticking past the valence half an inch but going balls to the wall with insulation eliminated drone completely. I love my car once again =)

There is truth to this. Today I took my tips off to clean them and went for a drive around campus to see and it really makes a difference so I went to advance and got an adapter so I can adjust them better.

What is this adaptor you speak of?

The thing at the left in the picture it's a 3 inch inside diameter to 3 inch out side diameter adapter. The tip on the far right has it on in that pic.
