I loaded music on a brand new standard sd card(not sdhc). When I install it, it just scrolls through all of the songs on the card. It won't stop. I will select a song and it will stop for a second and then continue to scroll through all the songs again. Anyone have a similar problem or know of a fix?

I dont know how to help you, but does it show the list as "track 1" "track 2" or does it say the actual name of the song?
I never had that problem but try putting a folder in the directory to see if it that helps stop the scrolling.

it shows the main folder at the top and all of the songs under it. All of the song titles show up but it won't stop scrolling through them.

Do the file names show up on the screen as ".filename"? Also are all the files mp3's?

interesting. ive had it skip over songs before as if it couldnt play them...maybe its doing that to your entire sd card and just constantly trying to scroll to the next song it can play and just never finding one. what are the file types? length of file names?

I tried with a different card and album and two songs played. Is there a cap on the file names? It seemed like only the two shorter names played. All the songs are mp3s.

yes there is a limit to the number of characters per filename...i forget what it is. but usually if the filename is too long, the song just doesnt show up at all in your car.

There is a limit the the character name per file, and also the bitrate of the file. I can't recall either, but just check both of those first.

I noticed this with mine. Songs with long titles played fine. Some shorter titles got randomly skipped over. All are mp3. Both cards are 2gb. It's weird that I just bought these cards Friday and used the mp3 slots for the first time and this post pops up! Thanks go out to the OP!

There are limitations on the tagging information too. Every time I've had this issue, I've ran the files on the card through a tagging program to re-write the tags. I'd recommend not editing tags through Windows explorer (right-clicking and selecting properties) as this has always caused files to become unplayable for me.
