ready for noob question. WHats the sps do? Can you load like 6 different custom tunes you have, and that changes them? or is this for loading like a 91 93 or 100 octane files. Or am i missing the point. haha

The newest sps with the knobs allows you to change your tune settings on the fly, while the other versions of the sps require you to preload 3 user selected settings and then you can switch between them, and stock, and valet, and anti theft....
It's also quite handy if you need to unplug your battery. Or if your battery dies and you lose your tune.
When I had revo, it was great to have the sps

So if I understand correctly, you can still adjust boost timing and fuel via a computer with the old sps? I thought you could only do that with the new one? And the old one only allowed you to switch between stock, performance, etc which were unadjustable by the end user? So the only benefit of the new one is that you can preload your own settings and then change them without a computer? Thanks for clearing my confusion!

The old one, you had to make your files on a computer, load them into the sps, then put that in your car. I think the new one, you can just plug into the car and adjust only boost if you want to, or adjust timing slightly.
I really want the sps +, but isn't it like $150 by itself and no one will give a deal on it if you already own REVO.

I think there is a third version out from what Shane is talking about. The first version only had preloaded setting that revo loaded onto the SPS, the second version you could choose what settings are on the SPS via hooking it up to your computer using Revo software, and what I think Shane is talking about (I haven't looked into this at all) is you can change the fuel/timing/boost settings with the SPS while you are in your car and you don't have to pre-load the settings from a computer.

Ohh okay gotcha, thanks for clearing that up. Looks like I'll be looking for the sps+ aswell. But I think they are even higher than $150 but don't quote me on that

Keep an eye out for one in the classifieds section or ebay. I bought my SPS off ebay for a very good price. [drive]

Right, I never knew their was an old old sps that didn't let you change the settings? But I have heard of some of the vW guys saying something similar.
And I'm fairly certain the newest sps let's you adjust all three parameters completely, but I very well could be wrong.
The sps I had needed to have the adjustments done via my laptop. Then loaded to the sps.

Exactly! It's a much better tune, and $200 cheaper than the other "leading brand". Cough. Cough.

So I got my SPS some time ago from Supreme Power, which was shipped quick and a good group. The SPS itself is insanely easy to use and awesome at the same time. The longest process was waiting to download the SPS for vag software on my computer because of my crappy internet connection. But after I had everything ready to go it took about 5 minutes to program my 3 settings in there and load them onto the SPS. It takes no time to change the settings of on the car. Just thought I would post a little review up for the SPS since I would say it is almost a must to have when your are tuned with Revo.
Bottom line its simple and easy to use and I definitely recommend the SPS and Supreme Power [race][up]

So if i get Revo stage 1 with $100 off and then want stage two after i get exhaust, am i still looking at only a $50 upgrade apposed to a $150 upgrade? is this a SPP promotion or a REVO promotion? Thanks!
PS- i really hate you because i found my exhaust cam seal leaking today and should be spending money on that and a timing belt, but this is such a good deal!

Yes, even though you get a discount on stage one, you will only have to pay the original amount to go stage 2. They have no record of your sale price, just that you own REVO. And this is a REVO deal, not a shop deal. Honestly, don't get the discount, get the free sps+ controller. I wish I had one almost weekly.

Is there a new sps3? The sps3 I had wouldnt connect and revo told me they dont work on b7's and to send it back to them to get a sps plus.
Man, this is all so fuzzy I wish someone (from revo) could outline it in black and white what sps does what exactly, which one works with what chassis, prices for each, computer required or no, etc etc. It seems like no one actually is 100% certain on all the varients of the sps's.

That is impressive especially since you are at high elevation also!

That is corrected for sea level. I did have him print out not corrected. The actual loss due to elevation is definitely noticeable.

Those are nice numbers! Are you running a test-pipe as well with your full exhaust mod?

Yes, VMR test pipe, full exhaust. No other engine mods save a small wastegate adjustment.
