Do the BSH block off plate, if you don't want a catch can. If you want a catch can, search for a thread called "the ultimate catch can guide"

Which is better between the BFI block off plate vs. the 034 Catch Can?

I am very happy with my 034 catch can. The custom silicon hoses are awesome. The BFI catch can has a more attractive can. Either way you will get the same performance. Depends on if you want it a little more showy (BFI), or a little more OEM (034).

A catch can will always be a little better for the engine than a block off plate.

Nice write up in there, I really like the look of the BFI but I'll prob be going with the 034 too

I am definitely looking into getting a CC setup and after the first batch of 034's came out and people have been pleased with them, I really want to pick one up.
JR, how much "trimming" did you have to do on the engine cover for the silicone hoses to fit?

The popular opinion is that the factory PCV setup is garbage and it would also seem that a Catch Can setup is preferred over a block off plate. The topic JimRobbington suggested you search for has all the info you need and even links to sites you can purchase a Catch Can setup. Not sure what else you would like to see as far as posts because they are all related to the PCV system and mods/fixes for it http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/449451-Ultimate-Catch-Can-Reference

You've got your answer. Go aftermarket. Any OEM PCV will always fail eventually. Block off plate with BSH is your cheapest option, or go with a catch can.
Bman, I never put my engine cover back on. But if you were to trim it to fit the 034, you would have to cut pretty much the entire diameter of the hoses in two locations. I mean, not hard at all with a dremel, but might not look the best.
