What's going on guys?

New guy here that just picked up an 08 A4 2.0T Quattro w/ S-line package. I read the new members guide and tried a search but just wanted to make sure before I spend $1000+ on a set of coilovers. I noticed the new members guide said that B6/B7 suspension is interchangeable, but it made it seem like it was OEM stuff only. I know the DIY is the same for B6/B7 suspension as well. Just one more sanity check before i drop some coin would be appreciated. Will a set of B&G RS2 coilovers for a B6 quattro fit my new B7? If it's a stupid question i apologize. http://www.sparktecmotorsports.com/bg-rs-06-007.html

And if those won't work, how do you guys feel about Stasis SS or ST's. Saw a nightmare of a thread about some issues with Stasis SS kits blowing front shocks and having horrible customer service. And the ST crowd seems to have issues with the rears not going low enough and having to remove the rear perch. As you can see I did some homework before posting the typical noob bullshit, just trying to get good info before i pull the trigger. Thanks in advance.

B6 and B7 suspensions are entirely interchangeable. Coilovers, shocks, sway bars all fit either car.
Springs are also interchangeable, however the ride heights will vary since the cars weight slightly different.
We've got very competitive prices on B&G suspension, if that's what you've got your mind set on, shoot me an email for pricing.

Just so you know all 08's came with the s-line exterior package, so you may or may not have a "true" s-line.

@Ed-Thanks for the info. That's more than likely the case considering I have the regular fishscale trim. Have read full s-lines have brushed aluminum? Also probably why the VIN didn't come back as S-line when i updated my insurance.

@Mike@PureMS- Thank you I'll keep that in mind. I'm probaby about a month away from purchase, but i had RS2's on my 08 Jetta and loved how you could lower without affecting spring rate. Seemed like that car rode better on B&G's than it did stock and it was planted!

I have Stasis SS for about 8 months with no issues.

@Audi-509- Good to know man, thanks for the input. Do you like how they ride? My biggest selling points are ride comfort, range of height adjustment, and then handling for the occasional spirited drive. This car will never see a track, so there's no need for a higher end set like Bilstein's or anything. I know that's not the purpose of a coilover but i'm a show before go guy on a daily driver. Even well built fast cars break and i can't afford to have that on my sole means of getting from A to B.

I have SS's, they ride very similar to OEM. Great coilover for the $.

Ride comfort is good considering I'm ridings on 19s. I have about the same needs, more show than performance. I can't speak much about height adjustability since I haven't had the need. But I still have several threads left if I want to go lower. Overall good coilovers for the $.

Thanks for all the info guys. Looks like I have a decision to make on a set of B&G RS2's or Stasis SS's. Leaning towards the RS2's because they're familiar and i love how they adjust without messing with spring rate.

Welp it's that time. Getting ready to pull the trigger on coils. Did some research and found out there's about a hundred pound difference in curb weight of the B6 quattro with auto and B7 quattro with auto. According to Audiworld's model guide the B6 weighs 3550 lbs and the B7 weighs 3660 lbs.

What kind of a difference do you think that would make running the B&G's designed for the B6 quattro on my B7? Would it naturally sit lower because of the extra hundred pounds? Thanks in advance for your help guys.

Absolutely none, how much does your average passenger weigh?

difference would be minimal. cant find info on b&g for the a4 but why not go with a set of votglands or something comparable? tryed and tested and everyone ive talk to whos had them loves them.

The main reason i keep going back to the B&G's is because of the way they adjust for ride height. The shock housing itself is actually threaded so you don't even have to mess with the spring perches, which means you're not compressing the spring to lower the car. They're also full dampening adjustable and powdercoated for corrosion resistance. Not to mention i can get a set brand new for $1000. I had them on my MK5 Jetta and they were insane! My Jetta was dumped and rode better than stock, and on 19's at that.

@Stewy- haha definitely no fat chicks. You won't catch me moped'ing it up.

@Draklore- Well I weigh 170, and the only other people that ride with me is the roommate(weighs roughly the same) or the occasional girl here and there. My ride isn't the party bus that's for sure. By the way, love your ride man. You have some serious work done to that car!

Thank you,
Honestly the only defining difference between all the coil kits on the market listed as "fwd" "Quattro" "S4" specific stuff is the dampening and spring rates. But IMHO they are very close ratios between all, & I doubt you could tell the difference between a set designed for b6/b7 or fwd/Quattro

B&G has not released the B6/B7 RS2s yet, hopefully this summer but that is what we were hoping for last summer as well.

Yes I am sure. I am a B&G dealer and talk to Migs at B&G every few days. They released a pn but have not built any coils yet. That is why no one is running them yet. Try and order them and see what happens.

I wasn't saying that like an asshole man i was just curious because I've seen them in a couple places(site in link posted, and Purems to name a couple). Any idea on a release date? I'd hate to buy wheels/tires without coils because i refuse to put them on without a drop.

Nothing definite and we have been waiting a while so hopefully this summer no earlier than May at the very earliest.

Damn...guess it's a good thing Forgestar has a lead time on wheels. Either way I'll be waiting 6-10 weeks to throw down on coils.

@chrislane31 - Any other recommendations on a good set of coils with ride quality being the highest priority and amount of drop being second?

Love the price on ST's, but i'm worried they don't go low enough. Specifically in the rear.

I just got my set from Chris a couple days ago and will most likely be installing tomorrow. I was a little concerned about this too, but I think it'll be ok. I'll snap some pics of the rear and post them up.

Gotta show Mike@PureMS some love for getting me a set of B&G RS2's from overseas special order. I'll report back when they come in(gonna be about 6-8 weeks). Also pre ordered a set of 19" Forgestar F14's in gunmetal. The Audi got some love for sure this month!

hope you like waiting for wheels because forgestar is terrible. i ordered a set of f14's last year and they were promised to me in 3-4 weeks (i had to have them for wustefest...this was when i was in cali btw)...never showed up ended up taking about 9 weeks. and i never even got them i ended up selling them before they were shipped to me because i was so pissed off.

Well the good news is that I'll be waiting for my coils anyway. And i didn't buy them from Forgestar directly. Bought them through Campionishop and was told to expect a 6 week lead time. I really don't mind the wait because i couldn't find another set of wheels i wanted to pull the trigger on. I can understand your frustration though wanting them for a show. That would probably piss me off too.
