Im wondering if anyone has used an ebay VAG cable to log their 1.8t b6 a4,
I was gonna buy it from a guy that has the cable laying around, he said he used it to do the window remote rolldown a while back.
I plan to use it to log my car so I can change some parameters via my sps3 switch now that I installed a meth kit.
I would be using the vcds-lite version obviously.
From what i understand here.... http://http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds-lite/manual/datalogging.html It will do all i want.
im adjusting timing and boost so Im looking at group 004 and 020 for timing vs rpm
Any info would help. Thanks.

Hey I have a question for you about using vag com for the window remote roll down... is that vcds-lite free and you can program that feature with it and the cheap USB/obd2 interface?

I paid $99 for the version where you use your own interface. The free version has limited capabilities. There's info on the website. They recommend trying the free version with your interface to make sure it works before paying for the software.

I have the 'cheap eBay' vag com cable and have used it successfully with VCDS-Lite. However, when it scans it stops after the first found error and stops. I purchased this because I had to do the Daytime Running Lights as Canada needs that and the car didn't have that before having come from the states. After I set it to RDW and did the citylights fog mod and I can report everything was a great success!
If you're looking to do just 1 or 2 small things, this is a good investment as the cable is like $10-15 and the software is free. But if you want to use Lemmiwinks and/or do more complicated things, definitely buy the full thing. I'm sure if you put up an ad in Craigslist/Kijiji offering Vag-Com services, you can pay off your purchase in a reasonable time as well :)

Do you have the original Ross-Tech cable? If not, don't be surprised if it doesn't work.
