View Full Version : Wheel spacers with wobble bolts?

I've found some wheels I really like but they are 5x114.3 and would actually sit 1mm inboard than my stock wheels. I was thinking to get 10mm spacers but I don't know 1) if they make elongated wobble bolts to compensate for the spacers, or 2) if it is mechanically safe. If someone makes 38mm long 14x1.5 wobbles, I'm set. If not.... no dice.

Anyone have thoughts about 1) availability of longer wobble bolts and 2) the safety aspect?

just re-drill the wheels

That^ or run adapters. They might need to be 15mm but it would solve your issue a little easier.

I hadn't thought about re-drilling the wheels... I'll have to do some looking around for a shop that can do this type of work.

I think 15mm might work, but I'm liking the re-drill idea best so far, but that's not a bad idea at all.

luckily 114 to 112 is fairly easy and you should be able to find someone close to you that could do it

i would try to do that before running adapters

why not run the 14 to 12mm studs with tuner lugs to run the 5x114.3? then you could throw your spacer on there too.

We do not recommend using wobble bolts along with spacers. Wobble bolts with out spacers there's no issue though.

I did this all summer, I checked the torque on the lugs every now and them but only after the first drive did they ever really need to be checked. I will be doing this every summer as long as i can find a longer stud as i want to run 10mm spacers.

I'm not familiar with "tuner lugs" or "14 to 12mm studs" - could someone post up some pics and/or links? I'll google in a minute, but someone with this setup that has pics would be perfect. Thanks!

i dont have pics.

But they are 14m to 12m bolts. 14m to fit like your normal 14m bolt the reduces coming out 12m and use a tuner lug (lug nut like hondas use).

it makes it so we can mount a 5x114 wheel on our 5x112

Fk that shit.. I got them last 4 years which my wheels were required to use them. I had to check on them almost every monthly [evilmad] but afterward, i trashed them away... 4 bolts were seized which i had to use torch and wd-40 etc etc. Lesson learned.

I had one seize on me but got it out with pliers instead. Once they were tight they were tight just once i actually had them loosen on me and that was after the first drive.

I would love to use a wobble bolt or something. I might even just get my wheels drilled out a little to use our normal bolts that come with spacers.

I will either drill or find different wheels. Studs will be a pain in the arse. Now to find a shop to do the drilling. Any suggestions on how to find someone to do it right?

anyone find any 5x112 - 5x114.3 stud conversion kit but with a stud length of at least 2"? After you guys horror stories, i might think twice of getting them.
