We won't be able to help you unless you pull the codes.

well. just checked it this morning. It was a solid light last night driving home 1 mile, but now the car is blinking "yellow CEL". Any different? The car defiantly has a rough idle and haven't tried driving it again.

Get a code reader and get the codes, we could sit here guessing which one of the 9999 possible powertrain codes you are getting.
Flashing CEL is always misfires, coil packs, bad plugs...
Seriously a "I have a CEL, haven't pulled the code or done any troubleshooting or listed any maintenance history on the vehicle" isn't going to get far or get many serious responses.

I think some oil change places can scan, but really, unless you have your own, and then can do a log to narrow down the problem... You are just going to be replacing things until you replace the right one. We all know the coil packs are known for going bad, so maybe start there? Plugs are always a good thing especially before winter.

OP - go to your nearest AutoZone, they will pull the codes for free.

should I even drive it like this to Autozone? Closest one is 3 miles (back roads ~35mph). The local import shop is 7 miles....Not sure if I should drive with blinking yellow or get towed?

thinking about getting it towed 6 miles to the local import shop. Just wondering if I can make it those 6 miles w/o a tow....

Why do people make things more complicated than they are?!
Just buy an OBDII scanner from autozone and call it a damn day! Sheesh. Worst case scenario.... You can pull the code and return the damn thing if you don't want it. Makes no sense to risk driving and screwing your car up instead of buying a scanner that's 50-100 bucks....... And even returning it if you want.

thanks everyone. I couldn't even get it started yesterday, so I got it towed to a local import service shop. They confirmed my thinking that it was the ignition coil. They replaced two ignition coils.
