I see some of those VW's with decent looking stock 17" rims rolling around.. But people hate stock rims so i'm lookin on ebay and there's quite a few of them for sale...

I assume we can use stock VW rims right? What year can we use them up to? (all the way to 04? ) same with stock Audi rims, will 2003 rims fit?

all passats use the same bolt pattern, so the wheels will fit.

the stock celebration rims, and rs4 reps are the best stock looking 17's IMO

One way is to remember that the Passat (98 and up) wheels will fit, but none of the Golf/GTI/Jetta/New Beetle wheels will fit. Different bolt pattern.

Our car has a 5x112, where as the Mk3 and Mk4 Golf/Jetta/New Beetle has a bolt pattern of 5x100. Just check the description before buying. Also, an offset of 35mm is close to perfect.

Another way of thinking about the possible wheels that will fit - all longitudinal mounted engined cars drivetrains are the same, where as all transverse engined cars drivetrains are the same, including bolt patterns. Even the Audi TT has a bolt pattern of 5x100, like the Golf/Jetta/New Beetle.

Hope this helps!
Mike

if you are looking for a cheap upgrade, i'd get some b5 s4 rims or some celebration rims. both are 17's.
