Hey everyone,

I tried search and didn't find anything. Has anyone tried to swap out the VW controller with the dial for the tilt option?

I ask, because I miss the ability to just turn the dial for tilting the sunroof. I find it annoying to hold & toggle the switch
up to for tilting the sunroof.

It is even possible to swap the controller????

Thanks in advance.

Do you not know that you can push the switch up, or simply pull it down and the sunroof will go up or down.

Yeah, i think he realizes that. He said he finds it annoying to hold and toggle the switch.

But to tilt you don't have to hold anything... You either push up or down.

I'm confused too. You don't need to hold it. Just tap it up for up and tap it down for down.

This I didn't know. I've always held it up or held it down... Thanks, nice to know.

Haha, no problem man. I figured mine out accidently. Then it broke.....

Just a tip, if it's tilted. Shut it and THEN open the sunroof. Mine must have gotten caught some how and broke the tabs on the railing so now the sun shade gets stuck back there...[headbang]

Only about $1,000 for them too fix it. Now the metal plate rattles against the bar and is annoying as fuck!

If you have the sunroof open, you can even turn the dial to close and then tap up without having to wait for the sunroof to full close first.

its a pretty stupid control mechanism (the dial) . my sister's passat and our b6 have both had issues. one day this summer it suddenly started raining while i was on the highway and the b6's roof didn't want to close. almost had to pull over to do it manually. annoying.

Yup...during lunch I tried the suggestion and one tap to open and one pull on the toggle
and it shuts.

That's what I meant. Push up once or pull down you don't need to hold it until it goes all the way up/down :)

Its not your fault. Ive seen this alot. Its the weak tach welds that audi does that eventually comes apart in time.

also if you turn it all the way back, let it open, then turn and hold it all the way back, it will go further back. Just in case you didnt know
