i have a 2000 a4 1.8t and just noticed that my coolant was low. one of my friends told me that im only supposed to use the g12 stuff. is that correct? if so can i only get it at the dearlership? how much does it usually run? thanks

G12, thats right. Not sure how much it is, I get my stuff fo free... I think it's like $14 a gallon, unmixed.

You can use a fully-approved Dexcool coolant, like Havoline Dexcool, to substitute for G12. although I probably would do this only if you are already out of warranty; NOT because it won't work, but to avoid any hassles the dealer might give you if you admit to not buying *VAG APPROVED AND SUFFICIENTLY MARK-UPPED G12* [;)]
