Well I caught a deal from EuropaParts for $10 off $100 and I was due for an oil change so I went ahead and ordered the Rev D Diverter Valve. Once I finally got the old diverter valve out to install the new one, I found out that I already had the Rev D Diverter Valve. But this is how it came out:

I'm pretty sure this isn't normal, but hoping someone else could chime in. I feel better even though I did already have the Rev D, after seeing this I'm glad I ordered a new one.

are you just missing some sort of snap ring or something? looks like it is all in tact, just apart

It's funny because it goes back together but it just doesn't hold together tight like the new one. The yellow is a sealant of some type that looks to have failed at some point. This is everything as far as what came out.

That yellow O ring is the sealing gasket not to hold the Dv together.

Thanks for the replies guys! I've already replaced it since to me it seemed not right when comparing it to the new one.. I do still have it if someone wants it, not sure how many miles is on it though...

completely normal, i had the EXACT same situation as you. I thought i had a diaphragm style DV the car being a 2006. I pulled off the "old" one and it was a Rev D! Fell apart exactly like that too and then I had my Vdub meachanic buddy check it out and he said it was fine. So I sold it here to another member! lol[:D] havent heard anything from him so i assume its all good!

the plunger compress in and spins to lock in position. When removing it can spin and "unlock" itself.

ha ha good deal IMO. I might have a RevD in mine already, but I am not going to pull it out without one to swap (just in case it isnt). So If mine is in fact, a revD I will probably make the same exact deal for anyone.
Thanks again Joel!
