All depends if you're maf or maf-less.

MAf: I'll probably do a 90 mandrel bend off the maf via silicone coupling. So the filter will face forward, right behind the headlight.

Maybe he meant MAF or MAF-less I'm not sure, I'm trying to figure out what does DBC or DBW have to do with anything but I'm drawing a blank.

I was under the impression that DBW years are maf-less, and DBC years do have them, resulting how you could run your intake.

Should'a just said maf or maf-less.

I've just got a ghetto cut piece of sheet metal. Wrapped the other side with heat tape. Braced it where the stock airbox is. Cost me like... 23 buck + the heat tape. Still have some leftover when I decide to make it look not so shitty.

You'll likely have to make one yourself out of some sheet metal, which shouldn't be too hard. Just take your time, make a cardboard template first.

I don't think the heat shield is available any longer. Look up blinktek heat shield.
