This weekend I was driving up to San luis obispo to visit a friend, when all of a sudden on the freeway in Santa Barbara an 80 year old man decides to slam on his brakes because the sun was in his eyes. I was going about 30 when i slammed on my brakes, unfortunately i couldnt stop in time, and my car went under his tow hitch. His car had not a scratch on it. My poor car (Elka) , wasnt so fortunate. My bumper,e-codes,hood,grill,radiator,fender, and whatever happened under the hood were busted
Sorry for the long post, just had to vent a little

I wish he had an M5, he felt bad about my car and he knows that when he lets me drive his car it always puts a huge smile on my face

How is your insurance vewing it? I think that they will likely view your as at fault because you hit his rear....

In Colorado you are ALWAYS at fault if you rear end the other driver. It is lame since people can do junk like that and feel that they did nothing wrong. I personaly beleave that much like you can not drive before 16 there should be an age where once you hit it you also can not drive.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Who is your insurer? Is this your first? Some, like Allstate, forgive the first accident....

sorry about your accident.

most states hold the guy in back responsible because you should always be driving at a safe distsnce from the car in front of you. i think safe is considered two seconds.

[:(] I hate bad drivers that slam on their brakes. I almost hit a guy in a truck today cause he slammed on his brakes. I was literally like 2 inches away from his tow hitch. [headbang]

I completely agree. Or, after a certain age, 60 or 65 or so, you have to start taking the test again every two years. Old people are just as hazardous as 15 year olds on the roads.
