Ok, so recently whenever I do a hard acceleration from a stop, I hear what sounds like my driveshaft beating on my floors. It comes and goes in 1st. I'm not sure where to start and what to look for, I was thinking tranny mount bushings?

Is it a single "thunk", or a series of them?

Bad snub mount?

series of thunks, sounds like an air hammer going off. I haven't checked the snub mount, the car does have 308000km on it...

With that many miles it could be a multitude of things. Is this a manual quattro?

Jack it up or get it on a lift and start inspecting all of your driveline and mounts.

And it won't be the snub mount.

And it won't be the snub mount.

My car made a thumbing noise when the snub mount was fubard on acceleration. But if you say it won't be....

Differential mount since it's coming from the back (drive shaft).

Something like this I believe;

Right, but we're talking about a series of these noises in quick succession. If your snub was moving around violently enough to make an audible noise then you need to replace other mounts as well.

As already stated, we're looking for something drivline related. I was going to say possible u-joint but diff mount could be a winner too.
