View Full Version : CD Player ERR1! Rear Window doesn't function, and Headlight Re-Level

Selling my AR this week, The CD Player doesnt work and reads ERR1 anytime I put a CD in it. It doesn't play or read the CD. I'm hoping it doesn't need a whole new console, but let me know if any one has any ideas. It doesn't have a CD changer in the back either.

The Headlight re-level dash light is on. They shine perfectly fine but I'm trying to get rid of the light on the dash. I had my fender painted after a little accident, and it came on after that. Is there any wires that could've been unplugged as the bumper came off that could've triggered this light?

The Rear Passenger Windows doesn't function at all. I'm thinking it's the motor, but was wondering if there are individual fuses for the windows or something. Please let me know! THANKS!! [:)]

- If the headlight has been unplugged at any time during the key being turned on, you need to re-learn the headlight adjustment in vag-com.
- It could be window motors, switches, wiring, or the convenience control module.
- Symphony CD players are very cheap on ecstuning.com

Where have you posted the car for sale? I'd be interested in an Allroad.

I own a local used car dealership and was planning to keep the car for the winter. I found that I can probably just last with something cheap for the winter. Its an 01 AR 6-Speed with 122K. Meticulously maintained. Suspension was re-done at audi at around 73K. Its Black on Black. Someone is coming up to look at it Wednesday for $7500.

If you can get $7500 for it with those issues, you should take it! Let me know if it doesn't sell.

Will Do! I'm hoping he doesn't notice the CD Player, I have to fix the windows, and I'll see if I can get that headlight light reset. It's a really nice car overall. These AR's go for really cheap around here at auctions, I'm going to have to buy them all. [:D]

Are you using burnt CDs or originals? The Symphony's are a little picky when it comes to the homemade CDs

I'm using burnt CDs. Is that really the issue? Even if my CD's are formatted properly and work on any other player? Jeez.. I'll try an original CD tomorrow morning and see if it works. Thanks!

Yeah, Unfortunately. The only way I'm able to get mines to play is by burning the disc at the slowest write speed you have (8x for me).

Even then it still acts up randomly switching between tracks.

Good luck, I hope it works out.

And used car dealers wonder where the negative stereotypes come from? [facepalm]
