seems like a lot of C5 guys have issues with axles (broken shafts, boots, failed joints etc). Saw this over in the groupbuy section:

$150 shipped for a pair of front axles. I can't vouch for the quality, though given my experience with the EMPIs on a lowered car I'll probably give them a shot at some point.

Not a bad deal, what bugs me is even if they have a guarantee, is the shipping back if you have a problem.
I've installed 3 Autozone Axles (2 just recently) at $57 a piece and they have a lifetime guarantee. They're right down the street and the guys say any problem just have us get you a replacement, take it home swap it out and get $$ for the one that failed.
I don't "want" to swap my axle every year, but I can do it in 45 minutes so...the risk is small for $57.
