Do you know of it's coming from around the air intake side?

..is it a bomb?

I know I have the same thing in my car and yes it stops after a second or 2. I thought it was the secondary air pump that makes that noise.

so you dont think its a problem?

my g/f says "your car makes weird noises" (referring to that noise) every time i start it up..

If it's what I think it is, then no.

It might be valvetrain noise, like a sticky valve or something. Justice Brothers makes an oil treatment that supposedly quiets things down.

sound like your valve lifters are just getting older....it takes a few seconds for them to fill up with oil. i wouldnt worry about it until it keeps ticking like 30 or more seconds after startup.

I've had that before, changed my oil and it went away
