I had a front right wheel bearing and axle changed on September 13, 2010 (last year). I've been feeling a pretty bad vibration the past week or so, and after I jacked the car up today, I could wobble the front right wheel back and forth. axle has no tears/rips/cracks in it, and there's no grease anywhere. there's a small amount of play in axle, but it's only side to side, not up and down, I think it's due to the shot wheel bearing.

is there a warranty on OEM parts? hasn't even been a full year yet and the bearing is shot, seems like they should last a little longer than that.

the OEM parts warranty is 12 months/12,000 miles.

if you had the bearing installed at the dealership they will cover parts and labor. if it was at an independent shop (or DIY), Audi will cover the part itself as long as you have the receipt...

cool man, thanks!

it was done at the local Audi dealership, but I no longer go to them after a little $1800 mishap last year. hopefully the VW dealership I take it to now can still cover it, but I don't see why not.

i don't know if VW will be able to claim that for you. I know at our dealership we can't do any VW warranty work, which is what this will be. I say bring it back to the same dealership or find another Audi to bring it to.

good luck!

You will have to take it to an Audi dealer, although it doesn't have to be the Audi dealer you had the work done.
