View Full Version : Interior pressure/motion sensor.
Where is it? I'd like to unplug and disable it.

could you relay the switch in the driver's side lower B-pillar? So that it is normally off and you have to turn it on
Thanks matt. I'll check that out tomorrow.

If that switch still functioned yes. I repurposed it as a start button a long time ago :)

My apologies for my ignorance but what is the purpose of this sensor and what is the benefit of removing it?

Oh cool. The wires should still be buried in there somewhere, right? If not then pull the B-pillars out and disconnect the 4 sensor wires shouldn't be too hard to do.
I'd like to work mine out so its normally off but when I press the button it turns on.

Hrm, so the motion/pressure sensor system is by default "On" when you arm the car? And you have to turn it off by hitting the button (which makes it red)? Just want to make sure I have understood that to be correct in the past.

the sensor control unit is behind the bolster on the drivers rear seat.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but does anyone happen to have the part number for the motion sensor button?
edit: nevermind, it's 4B0-962-109-A-5PR

More importantly - Dre, you turned that button into a push button start for your car?! That's awesome! Any vidz of this in use?
No vids no. It's a security feature so I generally don't advertise it.

I understand.
If there is any more that you CAN elaborate on about it, I'd be much appreciative...even if it's just personal thoughts about creating the mod and/or using it (was it hard to do? Is it easy / convenient to use? If you could do it all over would you do it again? Is it just cool factor or does it work well? Etc)
I like it. I wouldn't go back.
It's very convenient actually, even though 95% of the time I drive my car I remote start it before I get in. I really like that no one really knows how to start my car.

Can the system be disabled by pulling the switch and either leave 'open' (pull wires off switch, insulate) or shorten (connect two wires)?

So when you lock the car up for the night to sit so you can do a draw test in the morning and reach in to start testing fuses you scare the snot out of yourself.... and then have to wait a few more hours to do your draw test.
