I think NWS4Guy has spacers in the front. But he's definitely on the stock 18s.

I opted for 5mm spacers on the front over the stock 18's because the gap near the center of the wheel where the spokes join the hub and the caliper edge was very very close. Not required, but I opted on the side of safer.

John, sounds like a terrific deal!
Do you have black calipers for my Titanium S4, as you mentioned RED, Do the stock 19" rims clear the calipers? All my Audis have upgraded
brakes, either 993TT and also Stoptechs on the Supercharged S6. Can you direct me to the profile sheets that allow me to check clearances?
Does your kit include SS lines?
Opinions here on stock brakes vs. Stoptechs? While I know you may think this a dumb question, I know brakes, but also, I have thought the stock
S4 sliders are pretty good, and actually noticed how well they worked on a students' car at a DE event this spring at VIR

The stockers are good - very good for stock compared to B7. Audi beefed the size on the rears which helped a lot, and the weakest point is the fluid out of the box. Second to that is the compound used on the pads - stock pads are a close second behind the fluid as the weakest link.
If you plan to track and are more than a novice there, you will notice fade and go through pads pretty quick. Not only will the ST kit lower unsprung and rotational masses, but they will notably increase the pedal feel and linearity of pedal to braking (removes much of the dead space at the beginning of pedal pressure, and gives a very straight through overall feel as you press harder, I felt that stock would increase for a bit, then at meduim braking you would need a lot less pedal to get more braking and this higher late pedal sensitivity makes it harder to modulate the braking with less pedal travel to use stock).
ST or any aftermarket will give you a much more rigid caliper (helps a lot with pedal feel), more pots (stock has a single large piston) to allow a more even pressure of the pad to the rotor, much better heat absorption and dissipation from the 2 piece floating caliper, and many have a removable bridge to allow easy swapping of pads without caliper removal.

+1, pedal feel is so much better with the BBK. Plus, they look great.

I agree with all of this. I got my ST BBK after reading many reviews on here and I am so glad I did. They are amazing. The pedal feel is awesome as stated above. And one nice benefit is less brake dust. I would also recommend changed your rear pads and lines if you get this kit. What is an extra hundred $$$ to make your braking system complete

Good call and I agree on the back lines - since you will have the bleed the system, you may as well do it once - as the SS lines will also help stiffen pedal feel and response. Achtuning has them online for sale for about $55 a pair if I recall...

Got mine on order complete with a set of rear SS lines. Can't wait! Now I just have to make sure my winter wheel/tire setup clears them as well. Neal - What's the offset of the factory 18's you are running?

Not sure what they are stock, L0U would know if you PM him, or it is likely in the "ultimate wheel fitment" thread buried somewhere. I can get about a finger between the caliper and wheel at the edge, the closest clearance by far is where the spokes meet the center of the wheel and the edge of the caliper, my thread: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/422799-StopTech-ST-60-BBK-the-results

Any of you guys with the slotted Stoptech BBK *NWS4Guy ahem* notice a clicking after heating up the brakes? It sounds like a baseball card in bicycle spokes almost. I'm still breaking them in so I'm hoping it goes away but from what I've read, it's normal? When I first had the brakes installed, there was this weird clunking noise for the first 20 or so miles. Once I gave the system a few firm slow-downs on the high way, it went away. I'm hoping that once I do the correct bed in procedure the clicking will too.

No sir, never had any issue with hearing anything from the brakes aside from when exiting the car and they are nice and hot they have some normal ticking sounds from heat expansion/dissipation.

Great response, and you have more experience with these cars and have been very helpful to others on this forum. Stock 340mm rotors and pads greatly improve swept area. All my cars are either 4 or 6 piston calipers for the improved stopping power, MODULATION improvement and less pad knock plus better heat dissipation.
I am just trying to weigh the advantages, because I know the car can be made to work with improved brake fluid (good point) and more aggressive pads and ST's aren't necessary for street driving. I appreciate others' comments and support this upgrade as a great improvement for the car. On the track I will take brake upgrade over horsepower increases and always be ahead.
I prefer dedicated race cars for maximum track experience, but in no way mean to lessen the experience of a prepared street car pn the track. You have selectively made your S4 the dream of many others and I know Stoptechs make your car easier to get to the braking limits of a heavy car. I race two winning SCCA cars, and will not be driving the S4 on the track except for certain educational events. So am on the fence to make this improvement now at a good price or wait for later and wish that I did it earlier?
Is there any market for used S4 brakes? I imagine they will fit A4's??

That was my quandary too. I made the leap since the price was right. I'm having all four corners upgraded next week.

We share our front calipers with them. The A4 owner would gain our black finish and S4 logo. Our front rotors are also larger than theirs. I think for the calipers you should be able to get about 350 for the calipers. add in the rotors and carriers and you might be able to get around 600-700 I'd guess.
