get your wallet out. I seen one from an A8 with the controller on eBay the other day. 900 euro... Ouch.. And that didn't include the HUD.

Welcome to the expensive world of 2nd and 3rd gen night vision equipment.
I have a monocular 2ndd gen helmet mounted nightscope i used to tour the
woods at night, unreal experience.
3rd gen are super expensive, 4th gen are mostly government, 20-30k is the
norm.
I got my 2nd gen from ebay Ukraine, straight from the factory for about 1/3
of the US online price.

I have 2 FLIRs in my Land Cruiser, front and rear, switchable on the LCD...Pretty cool to play with....More of a security precaution than anything else....
When I was checking the options available..."hmm tear gas dispenser check, siren check, IR vision hmmm $10k hmmmmm....eff it. check..."

Can't beat a FLIR system in a street vehicle ! Power windows, power locks, Nightvision . . . Hell Yes !
Sorry for seeming naive, a friend of mine has night vision on his 2011 E63.. What are the benefits of this (I have never seen it in action)
And whats FLIR im guessing the IR is infrared

What the hell? A little disappointed at the lack of smoke screen and machine guns....
And in case anyone is thinking of asking.. I will not be retrofitting the IR camera. Audi doesn't make the grill for the B8 platform. Although the option to enable HUD is in our hidden menus.. Can't believe I even looked into that far..

Lol, no..because those aren't legal.... Although I do dream of one day buying a transformerish gun mount that appears from the hood...Would certainly help with traffic flow.
And it is a "street vehicle" looks 100% OEM...
Anyways back on topic...FLIRs help see what your eyes cant see even with the headlights on....Traveling on a dark road with high beams on..I'd estimate a good 3-4 second window..
