'02 Stg II AR vs. '02 B5 S4 w/alcantara, which to take?

I've been missing my Audi since I sold my C5 and now I want to get another.
I have two options...
'02 Stage II AR Blk 95K miles with full milltek, good maintenance, stop teck 4 piston brakes, recent RS4 clutch, hyperboost DV, sway bars, and etc for $9K
or,
'02 S4 Wgn Silver with white alcantara interior, 118K miles, no mod, very clean cosmetically and wants $13K.
AR definitely is better deal but B5 S4 Wagon with Alcantara matched with 6-speed is very rare in great shape...
What would be you audizine fella's choice???

I want an S4 Avant sooooooo bad, but I was literally just cleaning the ar and was in back. Turned on the heated seat to see if it works well and ended up dozing off, the ar is a big ass car, with HSports sway bar, better breaks, and stage 2 that is a great all around car. They are beautiful inside, very comfortable, although I want sports seats in it. Hard choice I'd say ar, since it is a 6 speed. Hell take the extra few k and go stage 3. Either choice is good though. Regardless post pics when you decide.

i've been looking for Pearl White Wagon White Alcantara 6-speed but I've never seen one.
One closest that combo was everything but with AT.
i think silver S4 is Okay...easy to keep clean look :)

I actually honestly agree. (Disagree?) It's boring and it's everywhere. Most people buy it because it blends in and is inoffensive. The best colors are the ones you don't see everyday: Pearl White, Ming Blue Pearl (I'm not biased), Santorin Blue, Nogaro Blue, Tornado/Laser Red, Imola Yellow. Those are the real gems. No matter how "clean" a silver car is--and no matter how rare the model or interior color/trim is--it's still silver.

I initially didn't like silver much but my silver AR grew on me. It helps that AR comes with much darker front/rear bumper, fender flares and side skirts.

The reason it grew on me is simple. Mine is a stage 3 AR (GT soon) which you wouldn't tell until it kicks your ass. The silver keeps in plain and completely stealth to everyone especially cops. There is nothing like doing something silly like accidentally turning right on red light where you cannot, getting stopped by a cop and getting off with a warning since I am driving silver family wagon...

I would hate to have a flashy S4 for another reason. They are very easy to steal (no immobilizer for example) and they are being targeted by car thieves everywhere since most S4 have some pretty expensive goodies installed on them.

I would go for the allroad, it is more practical, the s4 is a little high, price wise even at 11k, IMO. Plus, if you were to get the s4, with it being so clean, you might be a little too anal about it and get upset whenever a crumb hits the floor. I know I would be. At the end of the day the decision is yours. Whichever will make you happy, if you cannot decide, go drive both and make a decision afterwards.

I agree. My A4 is Brilliant Yellow and the only reason I got a speeding ticket was because I looked directly at the cop as I drove by....."Hey! Look at me! I'm speeding and I'm going to eye you down to make sure you don't catch me!"

I honestly believe that most cops look at my car and don't touch me because they couldn't imagine that someone with such a visible car would be doing something stupid.

OP.....allroad. In terms of mechanical bits it's the same as the S4 but since it's a Stg II it's probably already had expensive maintenance done to it. The comment about the allroad not being a decent handler without bars is true, but that's an easy fix for $500. I'd get the allroad

Or any C5. However, they really only help mid-corner. They do nothing for entry and nothing for exit. I would think that the number one street/track performance mod for the allroad would be an airspring delete. That does fairly defeat the whole purpose of the vehicle, though.

Why with Hsports and GenII's I give a lot of S4's a run for their money on the back roads

I am driving on 255/19 wheels so I have no complaints about AR handling at all, I can imagine that going to 275s, which is viable as many run that, would improve handling even further. IMHO hotchkis, gen2 arnotts and proper wheel/tires improves handling so vastly that AR becomes a completely new car and can turn very well.

Both are nice cars. drive both see which feels better, what has better maint and service records. Cleaner title or history. ETC. dont just look at what is done look at what was done..
