Well I filly got this finished. I have been planning it for a while. I had my shift boot redone to match my R8 GT steering wheel. I also had the center armrest recovered in Alcantara. I also replaced the shift knob with the one from the RS6. So I think I am finally finished with the interior. I have added: R8 GT Steering wheel, oCarbon MMI surround, RS6 shift knob, , RS5 pedals, and Stratmoshpere floor mats. Let me know what you think.

Here are some older pics of the wheel and trim before the shift knob was changed.

Curious how the Alcantara on the wheel and armrest holds up long term..

The wheel was the first thing that I changed. It seems to be holding up great. I have had it for about 8 months now. It gets a little dirty when my hands are not clean or from sweat, but that cleans right off with some cleaner. So I am hoping the armrest holds of the same. I ordered the Alcantara from a place in FL called Gulf Fabrics and then had a local shop do the work. I think I was charged $75 for the boot and armrest. But the Alcantara was $100 for 1 yard.

Alex sent me a pic of your wheel when I was inquiring about a R8 GT piece and it sold me. Can't wait to get it in the car.
Interior looks stunning sir.

Did your S4 not come with the factory carbon MMI surround?
Just wondering why you bought the oCarbon MMI surround..

My favorite B8 interior. Better pics of your wheel:

No ones car came with factory carbon around the MMI, they all have the cheap looking silver plastic...

Fan-friggin-tastic! I wonder if the boot is available for manny trannys?
Loking at it i realize the leather on the stock MT S4 shift boot looks kinda rough
around the edges.
Yours is closer to a real scroxxm:)

Looks nice. Hate the steering wheel. My car has the suede wheel and I hate the look and feel of it. Standard leather is much nicer.

Who did the shift boot? I'd love one for my 6MT, since my leather one squeaks.

I had it done at a local upholstery shop. Just find one in your area and time him your old one and ask them to duplicate it.

I like it. Did you consider having the stitching on the armrest done in red to match the rest of the stitching in the car? EDIT: I see your seats don't have red stiching so you could go either way with the console stitching.
