Hello all,
I have a 2008 A4 avant with the Audi Syphany with the bose system. I'm planning on adding a 10in aftermarket sub and i was wondering, What do people do with the OEM Bose sub? do you leave in plugged in and still going? or do you remove it? etc.
Any help would be great. I was planning on moving it anyways to make way for a custom box on the side.
thanks in advance

Did you basically leave the amp all hooked up to everything else, but just unplug the Sub?

In my Avant, the amp was attached to the sub box (screwed to the side of it), so when I removed the sub, the amp came out with it. It looks like you are just adding a new sub though and keeping factory speakers, so you will want to leave the amp/sub in there but disconnect the sub.
It has its own plug coming out of the amp, just unplug it.
If you were going to add an aftermarket 10" sub I would also advise on using an aftermarket amplifier
The view amplifier is nowhere near powerfully enough to run a decent subwoofer
You may also want to consider that if you unplug some bose systems you lose the rear speakers as well as the sub

I'm running the stock Symphony system in my B5 S4 and I'm wondering if the unit has any preouts for running an additional amp. Does anyone know? I'd like to order an amp soon but I'd like to get this addressed first. I've lurked other threads but no one seems to ever talk about it.
