I have a 2004 A6 S-line that has the ate 2 pad system. Am i correct in understanding that these calipers will bolt up to the existing carrier or will i need the HP2 carrier also. I already have the 321mm X 30mm rotors. If anyone knows anything else i need to do this upgrade please let me know. Thanks in advance

Personally, I'd skip the HP2s and get something like 034's solution (http://www.034motorsport.com/chassis-components-brakes-034-motorsport-big-brake-kits-brake-caliper-upgrade-kit-b5-s4-p-19180.html). Since you have an S-Line, your stock wheels should clear those calipers no problem.

I agree with JediJoker on this. The "upgrade" from ATE to HP2 isn't really much of an upgrade. The difference between the ATE & HP2 is hardly there. The main reason that people used to do it was the availability of aftermarket pads. This isn't an issue anymore, as you can find pretty much the same pads for both setups now. Unless you are getting the calipers & pads for free, I'd save your money for a more worthwhile upgrade. If you really want/need to get more stopping power, your only real option is to go BBK.
