They are crazy expensive. Like 2K or something for a pair. TT headlight units are wildly expensive.

You can get the clear corner lenses from OSIR through TTstuff.

I just put clear corners on my car. I'll try to snag a pic tomorrow while I'm working on finding my boost leak.

I just installed the smoked corners on mine and I am a happy camper!

looking good. Anyone know if hella or anyone else makes smoked tails for the TT, and where I could find them?

I think most people use a spray on their rears to tint them. I haven't seen aftermarket smokes but I have seen ones that were sprayed and polished to get the smoked looked.

How hard is the install for the clears? As far as opening the housings?

Its a bit of a pain but very doable... Some very mechanically challenged people have done their own with no problems.

1) pull the front fascia off to get the headlights out.

2) Remove 4 little metal clips around the edge of the head light.

3) Heat up the edg with a heat gun to loosen the sealant and pry the front from the rest of the housing.

4) Carefully snap out the old lenses and snap in the new ones... break off the liitletabs on the back of the reflectors if you want to remove them too and maybe fill/sand/paint the housing if so inclined.

5) use a little heat to soften the sealant again and reverse the teardown process to put them back together.

Its pretty easy but the first one you do will be a little tedious. My first took an hour and the second took like 20 mins. I've also heard you can heat the whole headlight in the oven on very low heat for awhile to release the sealant instead of a heat gun but I opted to go the heat gun route.

After posting here I did some checking around. A seller on ebay has 35% tinted lamin-x type film cutom cut to go over the TT tails. I would just be curious how much light escapes the tinted film during the day. The last thing I'm trying to have happen is have someone rear end the car or be pulled over for the lights being too dim.

For basic bolt ons try going here:

Modshack Stage 3 (http://modshack.info/)

The smoked corner lenses were definitely a worth while mod.. Now I wished Hella made some smoked rears... but maybe the Lamin-X film would look ok??
