Same track, same corner (Blackhawk Farms turn 4)
Stock suspension, no ADS:

STaSIS Touring Suspension, ADS set to "Dynamic":

Nice improvement, IMO. (I'm the passenger in pic 1, and the driver in pic 2)

Very noticeable. Great comparison.

Stock looks pretty good for stock. I hated the way my 335xi rode on the coilover suspension that was installed. I'll stick to stock.

Would you say that the corner-speed was pretty close between the two? If so, looks like a nice improvement.

ZCD: thanks for sharing! I'm torn on getting the touring suspension. What is your personal opinion of the ride harshness compared to stock?(my mark 2 TT was noticeable firmer than the s4 so I'm not opposed to harshening up the ride somewhat)
How does the car handle all the potholes and rough roads in and around chicago with the lowered ride height?

Pretty similar speeds, I'd say.

I think the ride quality is fine - it's certainly firmer than stock, but nobody would ever describe it as harsh. I haven't had any issues with bottoming out or anything like that. Naturally, one does have to respect the location of the front splitter, but it's not a problem. One thing I should mention: For my normal everyday driving, I set the ADS to "Comfort". Makes a noticeable difference in the ride quality.
The lowered stance is absolutely teh shiznit, though! Stock-suspended cars look way too high to me after looking at my car for 6 months. They're not THAT high, but the Touring kit's 1.2" drop is just about perfect - low enough to look really cool, but not so low as to look slammed. IMHO, of course!

yes, look at the angle of the front end to the ground between the two.
The first one you can see the drivers side wheel coming off the ground more too. overall looks like a big improvement

I have had the touring suspension on my non-ADS S4 for some time before I went for KW-V3's and what the picture is showing exactly reflects the improvement I could feel driving the car after the Touring suspension had been installed.

Any way to tell how much the improvement came from stasis suspension and how much came from ADS?

My take: The 1.2" drop in ride height is likely responsible for most of the reduction in roll, with the remainder being made possible by ADS, the stiffer springs and the larger rear anti-roll bar.

Thx, zcd. I have ads on my car as well and wondered 2 things: 1) how much benefit would it be on the track (first track day in Sep), and 2) can I mod the suspension wo interfering w ADS. Answer to 1 seems to be some, but maybe not hugely significant, and to 2) Yes!! (looking to drop mine for that more aggressive look)

With no passenger in the 2nd car, is this really a fair comparison?

+1 . I looked closely at the second pic and can't be sure if there is a passenger or not.
There is something there that could be a helmet, or maybe not. Please let us know. Does look great either way and that's a great new avatar.
Oh yeah, and Quartz is def the fastest colour [:D]

My post was never intended to be a scientific analyses under controlled conditions; it's just an off-the-cuff comparison that I thought might be interesting for some people.
I was there, and I both rode in the other car as well as watched it go around the track, and my car rolls noticeably less. Not surprising given the differences in the suspensions.
No passenger in the 2nd pic (my car).

Hey zcd, what size wheels are you tracking with the lowered suspension? I have 19's on my s4 and the stasis lowered suspension looks tempting if it can work with 19's and ADS. [drool]
How does she ride day-to-day when not tracking?
thx

Stock 19s. Ride quality question was answered earlier in this thread:

I'm sure it makes a significant improvement. But the line through the corner is very different, the stock car is clipping the apex and the 2nd photo looks like a car coming out of the corner near the outside of the corner. So the photos are very unscientific.

Surely you're joking, Mr. Feynman.
