I finally finished my sound system upgrade in my b6 a4 but i have two issues i was hoping someone can help me out with. I got Pioneer 930BT, infinity kappa 62.9 speakers all around powered by MTX TE404,2 MTX TR55 12" in factory ported box powered by Alpine PDS 1.600 amp. And Streetwires capacitor 1F. Everything sounds good untill i start the car. There is a whining/hissing noise almost like a mini supercharger. The more i accelerate the louder it gets. My ground is sanded and is connected in the trunk. What could it be? My power wire from headunit goes to fuse box.

Issue 2: how to i connect my auto dimmer wire from nav unit to to the vehicle's headlight circuit in order for this feature to work.

could well be a couple of things
quite simply the gains turned too high will lead to whats known as "noise floor"
if the system is picking up noise and it increases in pitch when and loudness when you rev the engine this is "alternator whine"
they are both usually wiring issues

the capacitor in that system is not worth using at all as it actually takes more power to use it than it does without it replace it with an upgraded battery instead or even better additional battery and split charge system

have you used a star ground ??? basically all the grounds for the entire system should go back to one point on the car this includes the headunit , nav , amps , processing
also make sure the ground your using is good not something like the seat belt holder under the back seat

Thank you for that info, i will be opening my unit up this weekend looking and grounding.

Any one has any info how to connect my auto dimmer wire from nav unit to to the vehicle's headlight circuit in order for auto dimming to work on the nav unit. Its too bright at night. Anyone has diagrams for the wiring of the lights?

there may be a wire on your unit which is usually orange if you connect this upto your headlight switch it should dim the stereo for you at night
alternatively have a look through the settings as many units now have options in built in them
