My brother works in an Audi dealership, so I came to his work and there was 2 new A3's, one with 6-speed and the other one with DSG. Ofcourse I took DSG 'cause I never tried it before, the new paddle shifts are great, and it burns rubber from 1'st to 2'd with no problem. To tell you the truth, I really like the way it picked up speed...Its's a fast little car....I smell tuning will hit this hatch....can wait till it starts selling, I might be looking at it. [a3]

I know, 3.2 quattro should be sick....DSG is nice, I underestimated it.

I test drove the A3 2.0T FWD manual yesterday. In a word.... WOW.

The 2.0 engine is amazing. Its much quieter than the 1.8T, it has a lot more pickup. The A3 weighs in at 3200 lbs, but it doesn't feel like it. Its so much lighter and tossable than my A4. The car rides well and looks fantastic. The seat bottoms are longer so they give you more support.

The price tag is a little hefty. To get all the options that I would want in the A3 would be about 33-34k. That's more than I paid for my A4!

I also took a DSG out for a spin this weekend. Along with a S4 but that’s for another topic. The DSG is and will be the only reason I will own an A3. Its 8milsec shifts are more than par and they almost made me shit my pants. I test drove the S4 first and with burble of the 4.2L quad exhaust still in my mind, I wasn’t looking forward to the new 2.0T- Until that is, I put my foot down and a new car emerged from what was a boring eco car only seconds prior. I loved it. It’s amazing new lines and a swimmingly fit and finished interior. The new BMW 3’s 0-60 is 6.7 and its starting out at 37k is more than sub par to the A3 2.0T’s 0-60 in 6.8 with DSG starting out a 25k. Look out boys, there’s a new girl in town.
