Couple of my buddies are going to Cars and Coffee in Great Falls tomorrow morning. If you've never done that, it's a completely informal gathering of cars every saturday morning starting around 7am, for about 15. to 2 hours. You'll generally see 100 or so cars, ranging from brand new Lambo's to mid-sixties muscle cars to real 1930s era classics, lots of fun (but darn early on a Saturday!) Pretty sure one of our group will bring his Shelby One, pretty rare car (one of I think 100 Shelby ever made!). It's at Katie's Coffee, next to the Old Brogue parking lot.
Here's a pretty typical Saturday set of pics http://www.flickr.com/photos/24136705@N04/sets/72157624287436951/
Anyways, love to see some S4's there (especially one with a pulley mod....)

I'm in my 5th dream around that time of the morning, but one of these days I'll make it out to that thing.

That is super early, but i'm sure i'll find myself up at a ridiculously early hour for a Saturday sometime in the near future and it sounds like a fun experience. You'd be disappointed though. I don't have the pulley upgrade.

Someone needs to start an afternoon version for us late risers.
Maybe 'Cars & Lunch'.

Agreed, it is an awesome collection, a group of S4's would be cool mine is Ibis Titanium Prestige Stronic. Great cars there everyone shows off some pretty fantastic exotics, traveling to NJ this weekend, racing NJ motorsport park in two weekends, but you need to DRIVE your competent B8S4 cars! Enter the Audi Club's September Driving Event at Summit Point September 18-19. http://www.pcc-acna.org/ We will have a new drivers' clinic at Summit Point, Sunday, Jefferson Circuit, then Monday on big track. I instructed a driver with a B8S4 at VIR in April, stock S-tronic and the car did very well. APR upgrades are quite interesting, more interested in suspension items, as a few suspension upgrades would have made the S4 the winner over the Porsche Boxter comparison in last months Car and Driver! I also have Vag-com package.

Pretty decent turnout today even with it threatening to rain, perhaps 175 cars. Couple of R8s, but sadly no other S4s....

My friends Shelby One, probably the only one driven regularly and not sitting in a showcase garage:

Great idea! I want to get a baseline lap time pre-pulley so I can get a real comparison of what matters to me, actual driving performance; dyno's are not a real test IMHO. Do an avg of say three best laps pre and post install, with the Alu Kreuz on too.....I'm right up the road from you in Oakton.

Wasn't aware of this gathering on a regular basis. Once I get back (from AFG) and take delivery I plan on stopping by... amazing collection of cars...

It's the third largest cars and coffee in the US, runs April to October, most of the AC Cobra (replicas though a real one shows up on rare occasion) roll out at 8:30 and head to Vienna Inn for another gathering of mostly Shelbys and some other American iron. Really a great tradition, over and done in two hours, everybody friendly car guys, even the guys driving the expensive stuff. A couple of vendors showed up today with booths though, I'm guessing that's gotta stop or the whole thing changes..
my buddy jkrew goes in his mk3 vr painted matte green, but as others have said, i'll never make that b/c of how early it is. if i made enough money to have ferraris and such, i guess i could find a reason to get up and show it off...
they have a similar meet at chic fil a in dulles town center on friday nights, but its not quite as "high end" as this meet. there are a lot of ricers, but they kinda stay in one section while muscle cars have their own section and so forth.
