I feel like I'm getting the run around from both forgestar and modbargains from wheels i ordered back in june...
first i get the wheels are being machined a month ago... now my wheels are at the powdercoaters for 3 weeks? 3 weeks to powdercoat wheels? wtf is this bullshiet?!?!?!

A good friend of mines works for them. He says they are pretty backed up. He hates telling customers this, and i feel his pain. but it is crazy right now. They have a pretty high demand, it even surprises me sometimes. Hopefully it is worth the wait. I think it will be.

Just don't order custom forgestar and you should be fine. I was happy with the setup I had for my B7. They were they F05s but they don't carry them anymore.

Sorry brain fried after a long week. Yea like I said great wheels but if you don't order a wheel in stock sometimes you might end up waiting longer than you expect. But then again when do you not on quality stuff these days?

They said they had all the parts in stock before I placed the order. Not only that, the point is they said they were at the stages at certain times. I'm starting to feel like I was lied to. I do not like being lied to, when they're at the powdercoaters for 3 weeks on a simple gloss black job... It's a bit of bullshit.
Haha what sucks is I had 5-7 people I was sending them, until I get a truhful answer, I won't send them... They will go straight to ccw.

Read around in other manufacturer forums and all I can say is good luck with Forgestar and Modbargains. Sorry but some had to wait over a year to get them or to get problems solved.

My best friend ordered some F14's for his B8 A4 and they were unfortunately made to the wrong bolt pattern... First batch took close to 4 months to make, had to send them back and get them remade... Another 2 months of waiting for the correct wheels.
I do like the wheel styles they offer but honestly their delivery time and accuracy of order didn't impress me one bit.

wow... that doesn't make me happy one bit, i'm calling them on monday AGAIN
I've ordered thru a vender b4..
After about a month, I wanted to change the spec, but they wouldn't let me cuz they already finished working on the block.
A few weeks after that, the vender told me that it's in the powder coating stage.
A few weeks after that, the vender asked me if I wanted to change the specs cuz it turns out the Caststars were going to cut out the block soon... meaning that they haven't done anything in the 2 months of my wait time.
I've posted my experience on here, but it was moved to a different category and never caught attention.
I got a full refund on my deposit and swore off Caststars.
On that thread, I've advised the members to buy 'off shelf' so you know that they have it made and ready, rather than ordering a custom set of wheels.

ok so they are rotary forged...and nearly as much as cast so so hows their durability? i have bent two of my stock titanium 5 spokes just from the roads here in ct the will soon be cast off to a permanent winter setup thus bringing me closer to the impossible decision of finding the the perfect summer wheel...

how did you get to the bottom of it? You just had to wait for them to call you with their screwup?
mdma2004

I would just cancel my order and find a different brand...yeah their wheels might look appealing to some, but customer satisfaction seems to be lacking...ALOT, I also hate when people are lying...similar situation happened with a vendor...long story short ordered wheels, clear coat started peeling after 3 months, had a warranty claim through vendor, no progress in 2 months, dropped the vendor, went straight to the source, got my situation resolved in 3 days.
how did you get to the bottom of it? You just had to wait for them to call you with their screwup?
Well, I just said 'screw-it' and got the refund from the vendor I ordered from.
So... basically, they went as far as to tell my vendor that I could not change the specs my order because the engineering already began (and a few weeks later that they were powder coating..), to asking me that if I wanted to change the spec because they will start making my wheels soon.
So... I waited 2 months for them to do nothing, and was told that I should expect to wait another 2 months if everything goes right (which was impossible). So I said screw it, I'm not waiting for 4 months for some casts.
If you go custom, they will eff you. One member waited for 4~5 months BEFORE cancelling his order (needless to say that they haven't done much in those wait-time). I just thought it was bad luck for him, but it was all caststars.
caststars asked that member if he was interested in a different wheel (he ordered CF1, they suggested F14 as the wait got longer), and kept telling him that 'it'll be done next week'.
I really hope you get this sorted out, but you should keep in mind that you might wait forever. So it might be better to call it quits and forget about how long you've waited for nothing.
OK, back from checking my e-mails.
Ordered: March 8th
Denied about change in order because the wheels began production: April 11th
Checked back May 10th (what was thought to be a near ETA date)
************************
The vendor called (not e-mailed) me about if I wanted to change the order because they haven't done shit for the past 2 months, so I don't have a record on what date it was.
But the vendor did call me a few weeks ago to tell me that caststars made the wheel I wanted.
I said I didn't want it.
I don't know if that wheel was made for me (because I cancelled and got a refund before they produced it), or they happen to have that wheel available.
Either way, I don't want anything to do with them.
I don't care if they make the best wheels on the market (they don't), I just don't want even a cent of my money going to the pockets of caststars.

k i would cancel but I would only get a 50% refund because modbargains has a 50% only refund policy for special order items... in the mean time another member on here got their wheels (shookatash) and he ordered maybe 10 days before me. I will call tomorrow and figure what the eff is going on. you know, if this was for like honda or acura... i can see this happening but come on man, we should be demanding a higher level of service... not just paying a higher dollar for bullshiet

Sydney, we have been doing our best to provide you with the most up to date status on your order and have been giving you all the necessary details to the best of our ability. No, you are not getting the run around, and yes, your wheels will be completed real soon. As we discussed over the phone, it is currently busy season for wheels and all powder coaters here in SoCal are backed up and are working diligently to complete any existing orders (Three to four weeks is not uncommon for a time frame for a powder coating service during busy season). You're not being lied to and we are giving you as much information as we have in regards to the status of your order. Again, they'll be completed reals soon and it'll most definitely be worth the wait. Feel free to contact me directly at 714-582-3330 x 8006 or ask for Alan if you'd like to speak about this in person again.

i don't think any of the blame should be put on the vendors of the products. They are "middlemen" of sorts in that they offer the same product that the manufacturer does often at a discounted rate that benefits us the consumer. The info they are giving us is what the manufacturer is telling them (i'm hoping anyway) as they should have no reason to be dishonest with us. I had to wait 8 weeks for my exhaust and now going on 9 weeks for my wheels so far so I guess i'm used to it. =)
Here I am sitting here a bit disappointed in my wait for my forgestars while at the same time watching modbargain's VMR ad in the post above is flashing in my face... haha

50% refund but you can always go to the credit card companies and see what happens. Like I said do a search using google and you will see all the problems with Forgestar and Modbargains that various people had. Some had horrible wait times, some had horrible finish problems, and others had wheels that didn't fit the car properly and had to wait a whole year for Forgestar to fix it. My advice would be to get your money back and just get another brand of wheels.
Vendors are partially responsible because they choose who they do business with. If they choose to do business with a non reputable company such as Forgestar than they have to take responsibility for any consequences as the vendor could easily not offer products from a manufacturer with horrible customer service.

I didn't get to speak with Gilbert yesterday however I did finally get a hold of him this morning. He assured me that my wheels are done, and are waiting for the batch to be transported back to Forgestar and then they can be shipped out to me. He told me he was going to call them this morning and get back to me later this afternoon.

Reading that thread and many others it almost sounds like a scam. 50% refund policy and few weeks wait turns out to few months wait for many. It's almost like they wish that you cancel the order due to the long wait and then they pocket the 50% without having to supply a product to you.
Also do a search for Iforge wheel problems and it is the exact same thing. Same owners also I believe.

So I was gonna post this bellow, but decided not...oh wait, I just fukin did!
P.S. yes, I am drunk right now...
fuck this shit...fukin bullshit these vendors pullin...as well as these fukin companies, so sick of gettin the fukin run-around...never will buy shit for a vendor/middle man cause all they do is create business out of fukin nothin
unless you put some fire up their ass and get them exposed to the public (which they fukin know will hurt their reputation) they ain't gettin shit done for you...then they are like 'sure, we'll fix our fuck-ups right away, cause we want your fukin money!'
...I deal with middle men/vendors on a constant basis in the printing world so knowing how they get their profits...there's no difference in auto world, fukin scamers
...And this is what grinds my gears!

^ what do they advertise? I heard that they were around 25lbs
• 18x8.5 ET48 - 17.6 Lbs.
• 18x9.5 ET48 - 18.4 Lbs.
• 18x10 ET42 - 18.2 Lbs.
• 18x12 ET68 - 20.0 Lbs
i've noticed that all their light weight wheels are a very high offset. i'm very close to the 18x9.5 with a ET39 so i'll be close to 18.2 - 19lbs
looking at that other thread says that 19x8.5 weighed at 19.4 lbs.
19x8.5 weighed in at 25.2lbs and advertised at 22.5lbs
I don't know how the 18x10 is less than 18x9.5... but I've seen that a few times when ppl weighed their wheels

Also interested to hear how the work with the hubrings for you guys.
One request I would have is if you could weight one of the wheels with or without tire when you receive them. I was big on forgestar until I saw a thread no e90post where they actually weighted the rim and it was much heavier then advertised. they are concave, and for our fitment, the standard size is 18x8 according to them, since i wanted 18x9.5 they had to custom make these wheels... why it took so long i have no clue, we'll see if it's worth it

It only looks like a Subaru if its on a blue car!
Otherwise gold is fair game [;)]
I have never seen gold rims on an Audi. I am sure it's out there somewhere, but I haven't seen it yet.

I'm just playing Devils Advocate here but I ordered my CF5s in an 18x9 on 7/13. I just got a call that my wheels are ready and they should be at Supreme Power(I ordered them from Eric @ SPP) at the beginning of next week. Maybe it isn't Forgestar with the problem? Or I might just be lucky. Now my next worry is having these fit over my brakes which everyone tells me that they will. Crossing my fingers.

you could have been lucky and caught the tail end of the batch. if you get caught in the tail of the powdercoating you'll get out fast. if you get caught in the front end, you have to wait for the batch to fill up... i guess in theory

make sure you check the bolt pattern and see if they're correct before you mount tires on them... just cover your tail
