Hi everyone,
I'm trying to decide what my next upgrade will be. I love driving this car, but from day one I've noticed that it's loose while cornering, even looser than my '05 TL was. Any advice on what I can do to tighten her up in the corners? I see that there's a group buy on the Alu Kreuz, and that Hotchkis sways are also on sale. I drive pretty spirited, keep her in dynamic mode 100%. I haven't done anything on a track, but I would like to someday.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Billy

I have both (sway/Kreuz) and love the setup........Ohlins help a tad as well.....[up]

I'd follow this order:
1/ Sway bar for cheap and immediate improvement
2/ Coilovers for overall performance
3/ Alu Kreuz for refinment

the order i'd go with as well. but i ended up with C/O's first with the Alu Kreuz on order. Still researching RSB's.

I'd probably do the Alu Kreuz first, then sways, then coil overs/springs. The Kruez will improve feel and let you push it harder stock to find the limits and then the next two upgrades will let you take it even farther.
That's my plan anyway. Already have my Kruez in and I love it.

i got the kreuz on order too, and have a drop with springs...
for the daily driver, was thinking it would keep the core dynamics in place but make it tighter...
if i get track hunger after my first adventure...will consider sways

it seems like ultimately this is a great combo...no matter how you get there.

This is very wise advice. Although I think you could enter the alu kruez in at anytime and be happy with it, bang for buck ratio is very high.

I'm going all in on Monday - STaSIS Challenge suspension (Ohlins C/Os, rear sway) and Alu Kreuz. I have high expectations for this setup. Planning to be on the track next weekend.

Wow, thanks for all of the responses everyone! I think I'll start with the Alu Kreuz and go from there. I see that I still have time to get in on the group buy. Thanks for all of the advice!
I don't really think it matters which order you go in.. no order is better than another.
I just wanted to lower my car first, so I went with coils. Saw a cheap used sways so I got them. GB on Alu Kreuz and jumped on that!

For those who have done suspension upgrades, what would be the best change(s) to make for highway driving? I don't do a whole lot of spirited driving on curvy/hilly roads, but I push it pretty hard on the highway.
I'd like to eliminate some of the body roll. I've seen a lot of people start with a RSB and go from there.... or would the Alu Kreuz be better in my situation? This may be a stupid question. I really don't know a lot about suspensions though.

Sways and end links will significantly reduce body roll and understeer. I have the Eurocode USS front and rear sways and end links and love the set up. The Alu Kreuz will improve steering feel and initial turn in.

For budget reasons, I am considering picking up just the USS sway bars (front and rear) from Eurocode since they are doing a group buy. I was not planning to upgrade the endlinks at this time.
Has anyone here installed just the USS sway bars (rear and/or front+rear) without the upgraded endlinks? If so, what were the results?

I don't have Eurocode's sway bars. I recently installed the Hotchkis RSB (for a great deal) in my car. I'm using the factory endlinks. It works just fine. At the last autox, the rear end of the car felt like it "danced" more at the slaloms (quick transitions).

Thanks for that input. I am currently considering either the USS, H&R or Hotchkis sway bars. What I like about the USS is that they are adjustable for varying stiffness....can you confirm the same for the Hotchkis bar? As far as I can tell the H&R is not adjustable.

I only have the rear bar, which is not adjustable. I believe the Hotchkis front bar is adjustable though. I didn't get the front bar because the SCCA rules only allow ONE swaybar be able to upgrade, but not both.

If you do any of these upgrades (Sway, Coil Overs, Alu Kreuz), does the car need to be realigned at the time of installation, and then as a follow up, does it make alignments more difficult down the road (e.g., can the Hunter machines work with all this stuff)?
Thanks

Sorry to bail on you with the sway test, Steve. After test driving a 2013 with Sports diff, I went to the showroom floor and saw a FULL STASIS PACKAGE S4. I started drooling profusely. It was at that point that I realized I won't be completely happy until I have that car....PERIOD! I had my good friend and SA crunch numbers extensively and got a nice sales price! However, with my negative equity on current lease (I'm only 2 years into 4 year lease $846/mo) my payments would just be too high. I decided to ride out my lease and not put any more money into current S4. I love her as is....did the exhaust, tune, tint, and grill which were necessary. Once I am in the clear, all of the money that I DIDN'T throw down into ALU, Sways, Coils, headers, etc will be going into my next S4......Full Stasis Package right out of the box, 6MT, Sports Diff, the works! Good luck!

I have been thinking along the same lines, but for the relatively low cost of a rear sway bar I might give one a try. My question: does the rear sway just affect turn-in, or does it help dial out some understeer the entire way through the turn?
