View Full Version : B6 A4 Sport Suspension - Worth upgrading from non-sport for improved handling?
Hey guys, I've searched quite a bit but haven't found too much about how the sport suspension handles. I haven't exactly been looking to upgrade my suspension because I kind of like having the clearance that I do, but I may be able to grab a sport suspension setup for a decent price, so I'm wondering if it is worth it for improved handling. I don't really care about dropping the car. All I see people talking about though is the ride height, which kind of makes me think the handling isn't that much better. Bang for your buck? Thoughts?

I thought about this a long time back, basically yes it does handle better but the main question is once you go through all the hassle to pull a suspension and put the new one in is it worth it? Probably not, if you're going to go through that much trouble or pay someone to its probably better to get coils and leave the height around stock sport suspension height. Thats just my opinion, I too want some clearance but much improved handling so I'm getting PSS10s this week and leaving it at the high end of the recommended.
Well that is a good point, but at the same time, money is money. Suspension wasn't at the top of my to-do list and I'll be happy with the sport suspension if it reduces a bit of roll and makes for a bit more spirited driving. This is a DD afterall. Coils would cost me at least $1000 more in the end which just isn't in the budget for at least the next year.
I'm hoping this will be a nice refresh to my stock non-sport suspension with 112k miles at a relatively low cost...

fair enough, just keep checking the classifieds or go back a few pages there were a ton up like a month ago I'm sure you could get a relatively low mileage set for like $150-200. Anything more than that may be a waste.

If you're looking for a cheap "fix" to the body roll try a larger rear sway bar. Like an RS4. Good bang for your buck, if you want more of a look with not spending much then watch the classifieds for lowering springs, or just buy new ones. They won't solve the body roll...annoyance...but its a decent solution over spending money on coils.
