I wanted to know of the compartment in the right side of the trunk is a good spot. I was thinking of getting a 10 or 12 inch sealed enclosure to go into that spot.
I was also wondering what company or product people recommend. I do not want to lose my trunk space or lose the ability to fold down the rear seat. I haven't followed ICE innovations in a while. My last system had a ppi 10 inch flat piston sub.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

After recently installing an amp and sub in my b6 avant I would say the left hand side is going to be the better bet. Due to the gas filler neck being on the right side the space is incredibly limited on the passenger side. I was barely able to fit an EQ and a small amp on the passenger side. On the drivers side I was able to fit a Pioneer 10" shallow sub with no problems. I made a trapezoid shaped box that was 14 inches wide on the face where the sub was, 7 on the back side, and 18 inches tall. It fits perfectly behind the stock compartment on the left hand side.

More air space = more better.

Do you have any pictures of your box? I need to make a new one to fit in the same compartment (although on a B7) and I just can't picture a box with those dimensions fitting behind there. If you don't mind I would appreciate the dimensions/pictures if possible, especially if it will fit a B7 as it would save me a huge amount of time. I am also trying to fit a 10" sub, although I suspect I have a larger mounting depth (5" on my sub). Thanks.

You should take a look at the Polk Audio MM1040-dvc subwoofer. It's a shallow mount sub that sounds great (only requires .66 cu ft of space)! I have a 10" hooked up to a Polk Audio PA880 amp and it's nice clean hard hitting bass.....just my 2cents, good luck!
