B6 A4 Avant basic upgrade

I am looking for a basic upgrade for my Avant. I have the Symphony/6 disc setup.

If i replace all of my door speakers and leave my center setup, will I have to add a bigger amp? The stock amp powers the rears only right? What is the best bang for my buck without a sub?

You won't have to add a bigger amp, but you won't be getting much potential out of your new speakers if you don't. It's okay to do just the speakers and leave the amp for another day, but you may as well go all the way.

I am looking for suggestions for 2 sets of 6.5" componets with 1" tweeters that can work on the stock setup. If i have add an amp, how much power do I need? I was looking at Focal, but I think their tweets are all 2".

I'm not sure 1" tweeters will fit easily in the stock locations without breaking off some plastic. If you use 3/4" tweeters you might be able to just press them into the stock tweeter locations. I know for a fact that you can do this with the Hybrid Clarus tweeters.

You should shop for at least 50W per channel RMS, which most decent amps are. Are you planning to do all four speakers or just the fronts?
