Finally found someone to help me install the boost gauge, all in all I paid $125 for everything. Bought the boost gauge from someone on here (sorry, completely forgot your username)

Anyways, install went relatively well just took some figuring out and IMO was really not that difficult to do. Besides some hard wiring we had to do and a few screw ups but nothing you can notice.. And some problems.. pics will explain. I also have a few questions.. Will post them below the pics though. I was quite happy to see that I'm able to peak 13 lbs ish and hold 10. Yay stock! For now [evilsmile] On to the pics!

Is that ^ ok to have? So far I have no problems with the vac line being there with the door and what not.

Same thing for there ^ is it ok to have the vac line wrapped like that?

And how do I fix that? ^ I don't know what that part is called, between intake/part that connects to grille, so I don't know what to search lol

You should loop the vacuum tube under your bolster, and through the grommit under there. Then it'll come out of your wheel well, and go into the engine bay on the other side of the wheel well. It'll come out right under your reservoir.

Not a flame, but just thinking if anything gets caught on the vac line there on the door opening, you're gonna be SOL. Any particular reason why you didn't just feed it through the firewall, or another internal pathway?

I would move the vacuum line. There are plenty of grommets you can use under the kick panel. For the air box, just remove it and it can be popped back into place.

Oh yeah, should have cleared that up before.. the reason we couldn't go through the fire wall was because we couldn't figure it out lol, no daylight and we needed a tool or something, can't remember

Like most others said, you really should reroute. You don't need any special tools, there are poke through rubber grommets under the steering column for easy access into the driver's side wheel well and engine bay. Check Podi's DIY (http://podi.ca/Installation.aspx) if you're not sure.

re-route the hose, because if you dont, the constant opening and closing of the door on the hose is going to tear the hose and stall your car out....then you will SOL.....try again and give yourself the daylight....i understand its tough when you get excited and want to install new stuff (especially 'easy' installs liek a boost gauge) but give yourself the daylight and a few beers to take things slow and easy

Well I was just trying to re route it now, but the only problem is getting the stupid wiper blade off. Why is it stuck on there so hard? But yes it works.. for now.. Will check podi's DIY out since the A.W.E one didn't prove to be much help lol

Oh, and trying to do this in 100 degree weather blows

...Bolts tend to hold things on tight, try harder.

no no no, once the bolt is off, the windshield wiper is like rediculously stuck on there....i would feel 100% comfortable unbolting both nuts and driving 100MPH in the rain and working my wipers.....i gave up when i did mine, and actually had a friend sort of pry the ECU box up while i fed the line in cuase i could not get to that screw bc of the windshield wiper....when speedsport did my meth install they were able to pry the wiper off (they said it took two guys and pb blaster) so they just never re-screwed that ecu screw in there so if i ever had to run anything again i would just need to do the 3

^ thank you, guess I have to get another set of hands an try what you did shick, but for now it's going to stay where it is.. Anyone else have any ideas on how to run the vac line?

You could run it through the grommet under the steering wheel. There is a big grommet you can use. Taken from fly300kts diy on halogen to Bi-xenon

Where the yellow is coming from right? You think the vac line would fit through there? I mean it is worth a shot so I might just give it a go when I get some time and if that doesn't work than well, I'll look around for other space

Move that line... I wouldn't wrap it around the coolant hose either which gets very hot...

I see you're located in NJ. Check out the thread I just posted on the main page [up]
