I have a 2008 Audi A4, 2.0T, Quattro, B7, without electronic dampening control.
Long story short, KW shipped the wrong part to me. They shipped part# 10210075. I even called KW prior to taking this to the shop to get it installed to confirm it was the correct part - they said it was the correct part. Their website said the same thing - that it was the correct part.
The shop assumed I gave them the correct coilovers, and started installing them. Three hours into the install, and after finishing the rears, they realized the front parts did not fit at all. We finally figured out that written in small print on a sticker on the box on the coilovers, it said "B8". Obviously, a 2008 is a B7 generation. The shop had to uninstall the rears, and put my stock suspension on. I still had to pay the shop for labor, but now I have a car that drives like shit and is not aligned properly.
After much work on my end, a new replacement set was shipped to me today. They shipped part# 10210028. I tried to use KW's site, but their part-finder is apparently flawed in a major way. No one should trust KW's part finder site, EVER.
I called my shop, and they are saying the correct part # is 10210029.
After research on www.ecstuning.com, it appears 10210028 is for FWD, and 10210029 is for Quattro.
KW is saying 10210028 will work fine on my car. They say the parts are interchangeable, but how can that be? It wouldn't make sense that a legit site like ECS Tuning sells two different parts - one for FWD, and one for Quattro - if they are "interchangeable."
This was supposed to be my first mod, and I was excited about this. Now I am about to pull my hair out, and am very upset/sad/confused/ughhh.
Please - anyone and everyone chime in. I need to know if the part number 10210028 (designed for a FWD) will actually work fine on my Quattro. Or would you try to return it, and get the correct listed part 10210029 (designed for Quattro). Thanks. [headbang][facepalm][confused]
