Anyone ever notice that when you chip an A5 2.0T it gives 229HP and 323TQ. Yet you chip an A4 2.0T and you get 232 HP and 273TQ. Both Tests were made with 91 octane. These are the figures straight off of APR's website and they were both only chipped (no test pipe and all that). Why is there a 50TQ difference between the A5 and the A4??

Because they are different cars.

Audi could have easily put a different turbo that is slightly larger on the A5. Same reason the 1.8 TT had 225hp and the A4 1.8 had 170hp

Yeah, i guess it could be. Although i'm still curious to find out exactly what it is. If it's something really small to change it could be interesting to do so.

Those 1.8Ts have different Turbos and slightly different stock software.
the A5 2.0 TFSI is the same as the B8 A4 2.0T

^Are you asking about a B7 A4 2.0T vs the B8 A5 2.0T??
If so the engine are not the same they are built differently.

Actually the difference you are probably seeing is because you aren't comparing the same 2.0t's. Compare the B8 A4 to the A5. Same numbers. The output of the 2.0t was increased for the B8, and subsequently the A5.
Damn beat me to it....what they said ^^^

Ah ok. I had heard that the difference between the 1.8T's (TT vs. A4) was also engine related and not turbo related. which i believe is why people specifically swap the 1.8T of a TT into their cars and slap on k04 or gt28

The newer TSI 2.0t in the A4 and A5 has a variable valvles control which helps to increases torque.

Application for VWs but close enough to give you an idea of the difference between the two 2.0Ts used in the Audi's. One thing I didn't know was the high pressure fuel system in the newer 2.0T is much higher (150 bar vs 115 bar).

Nope. The difference is larger injectors, a k04 turbo, slightly higher boost (15psi), DSMICs, and slightly beefed up internals (Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_TT#TT_Mk1_.28Typ_8N.2C_1998-2006.29)). Nobody swaps a TT engine because 1) its transverse and 2) with a chip and those same tt injectors, I can make the exact same HP in my b6 on a K03 for a tiny fraction of the cost of an engine swap (which again isn't possible because its a transverse VW engine).

I know the b8 a4 vs the b7 a4 engine difference is the integration of the valve lift two system (or something like that, read it here) but yeah, IMHO don't bother trying to swap parts from an A5.. Just mod lol
