I recently had my coils installed. Right away I noticed a clunking sound from the front end. Almost sounded/felt like badly worn out control arms. I assumed the problem was upper strut mounts. A friend took a look at the for me and said it might be wheel bearings. Is this possible? I know that after you lower a car there is a lot more stress on the linkages and you may start having problems arise. But wheel bearings at 37,000 miles, I don't know??
Thanks.

I doubt it would be the wheel bearings as it wouldn't make a clunking sound like a control arm problem would. Also, doesn't make as much sense having only 37,000miles. Go with your gut first.

I got my wheel bearing changed within the warranty period.
Check with your dealer. I've had little clicking sound when turning the wheel. This was before any of the mods.

Wheel bearings make a whirring/grinding sound since the contact points are constant. Sounds like something is loose. Jack up your car and try moving your tire side to side to check your tie rod ends, then grab it at the top and bottom and try moving it in and out to check your control arms.

Yep there is play in the passenger side tire. It definently could be the source of the sound/feeling. But I for sure can feel it if I put my foot down on the drivers kick panel also.
Would the dealer say no way to replacement under warranty since the car is lowered? I can't prove to them that i just had them installed a month ago.

And yes i'm used to wheel bearings making the humming whirling sound. So this is kind of strange. The play in the wheel but just hearing the clunk noise.

Maybe I got lucky but I was lowered and had aftermarket wheels when mine was fixed under warranty.

Also, when mine was shot it made a sort of knocking/flapping sound and went away when I was either accelerating or braking, you could only really hear it when I was coasting.
