damn bro arent you rubbing?
lol forreal i rub on my rears and dont have anywhere near as much poke as that. i need a tiny bit more camber and some stretch
mikebo212
05-28-2011, 08:05 PM
damn bro arent you rubbing?
Not really unless i hit a nasty dip but other than that im good. Its a 9.5 stretched on 235/40/18s...which isn't that much of stretch.
Gil2.0T
05-28-2011, 08:11 PM
I was planning on going 235s but they dont look like alota stretch at all. I guess ill go 225s
vbrad26
05-28-2011, 08:12 PM
it could just be me but...are the rear tires on backwards?
mikebo212
05-28-2011, 08:12 PM
I was planning on going 235s but they dont look like alota stretch at all. I guess ill go 225s
yeah 235's are barely stretched. 225's are good, and i believe thats what geoffafas running with 10's. You could even go 215 but you would have some nasty stretch on that.
Gil2.0T
05-28-2011, 08:20 PM
Yeah i dont want too much cuz i like taking corners quickly and wouldnt wanna have that in the back of my mind. Hell maybe ill settle for 235s

And even better when you get the focal point of the camera right. Some of those pics are awfully blurred.
Anyhow, the rear stance looks great!

I guess I am so used to seeing cars with 19" wheels, that these look very small to me. This doesn't mean I do not like them though :D

Looks good.
Get a stern control arm kit, or you be buying tires a lot.
If you really like taking corners fast you shouldn't even think about stretching at all.

I've never heard of a case where stretched tire has had any effect on that, where are you getting your info? I've been running alot of stretch for over 6 years no problems

proof of something going wrong with stretched tires under hard cornering NAOW, or it didn't happen.

lmao vance. TRUE that
i just hate that assumption...and it always comes from people who probably have no real life experience with it
a good friend of mine had a pretty serious stretch...225 on a 10.5 and he drove that thing like a race car...there were times i was surprised the tires didnt peel off lol
but they didnt...sure there are stories out there of people with stretched tires having them fail but think about it....
people that run stretch are usually low and require camber to make everything fit...so those tires wear faster because of alignment issues
if people dont replace tires like they should from the premature wearing then of course they are going to fail...and in that case i think some people blame the stretch
so the moral of the story is if you stretch tires do it right and you wont have any issues...slightly off topic but i dont wan the OP worrying about his tires falling off around corners because someone with no evidence said they would...
i think the only drawbacks of stretched tires are wear and maybe not getting a nice full contact patch when you ARE cornering hard...
im done lol

Whats your ftg in the rear? Cuz i need new rear springs to go lower and your rear looks like it might be a hair lower than mine. If so ill buy them :). Do you measure how tall they are by any chance?

Ohh only a quarter lower lol and your on stretched wheels. So they'd be the same. I neeed shorter and stiffer springs.

I mean to be fair, you only have to look so far as Sergio to hear a story of the tire coming off.. It's a matter of how much stretch really.

everytime i see a pic of our cars on 18s, i cant help but wonder what a wide 17 would look like
vbrad26
06-07-2011, 12:27 PM
17s would be to smallllllll
i dont think it would look right... maybe if it was a full faced wheel then MAYBE
but a 17 with a lip would look to small IMO
whiiite
06-07-2011, 01:08 PM
im thinking of trying it anyways, 18s really do a fine job at filling out the wheel well so i dont think 17s would be too bad, and with a beefier stretched tire(235 or 225/45 on a 10), might actually look aggressive/rallyish, or i could just be completely wrong, i just wanna convince myself these esm002 wheels i found would fit >.<
i currently have 19s and cant stand the height it gives the body of the car, with my stock 17s it looks so low, and im on neuspeed race soon with the b5 caps up front ^.^
definitely convinced to ride 18s atleast after these pics though
