Anyone know whats involved to do an engine swap from a 3.2L to a 2.0T on a B7 Triptronic? Lets assume that i have a doner car... What would need to be swapped other than the engine obviously?

I'm just taking a guess, but it would probably just be easier to swap the vehicle as a whole. Also if you don't mind, why do you want to switch? interested in more modifications?
I have a 3.2 and love it but there really are'nt any mods for it

I understand the lack of mods available for us, but how can you not love that engine note? Sounds like sex

Also any engine swap in any car takes alot of work and patience, so unless your very mechanically inclined it's gonna cost you an arm and a leg, especially for a swap that no one has done before. better off selling and buying a 2.0.

Better off swaping in 2.7tt or just custom twin turbo the 3.2

You would be better off just trading for the right vehicle or swapping a different motor.
The engine to tranny mount would be different, the exhaust would be different, motor mounts would be different, springs in the front would be different, along with a lot of other stuff.

Well it very well probably would be better just to switch cars like most people are saying, but it wouldn't be nearly as big a deal as most of these guys are saying. An engine swap to something that's never been in our car's engine bay is one thing, but putting a 2.0T from another A4 into your A4 is not nearly as big a deal. If you can do it yourself it would be cheaper than switching out cars. All the parts you need are in the donor car, so it just comes down to how expensive that car is and whatnot. If you can't do it yourself, you'd be better off just buying a functioning 2.0T A4 and selling your 3.2 A4.

if you have a 2.0 donor car it can be done. Swapping physical items is the easy part. The more troublesome part would be making sure the electrical side is correct. Then again, if you have a complete donor car you have a 2.0 ECU and wire harnesses.
With some research and dedication I am confident it can be completed.
Swapping in a motor like a 2.7 provides it's own challenges. One being your state's laws. Most states do not allow older engines to be swapped into newer cars. You then have to do the wiring to get the ECU to play nice with the B7 instrument cluster.

What you want to do here involves the DMV and the bank. Sell your 3.2, pick up 2.0t. Profit.

Ditto. Plenty of 2.0Ts out there. Also, x3 on sexy exhaust note. My wife tells me and everybody else that my car sounds faster than it is but then complains whenever I shift into Sport mode and floor it.
