As some may know, I bought this car recently and it came heavily modified, I dont even know for sure everything thats been done yet.
Current main concern is that I seem to be burning oil, and getting poor mpg sometimes. I dont have any CELs, but I have had one for too lean.
After getting a leaky gasket fixed, the dealership noted that I have a bad fuel sensor, and possibly a pump problem but they couldnt tell for sure without looking deeper.
Is the bad sensor giving me bad mpg?
When I start up the car, especially in the morning or not having driven it for several hours, its a little slow to start and it helps if I give it gas when turning the key. Could that be a pump issue, or spark plugs? After starting it I let it idle in neutral and the tac goes up and down and up and down, not too drasticaly, about 4 or 5 times before it becomes steady. It also is a little rough at about 3k rpm in 1st and 2nd gear-seems to chug along yet hesitate back and forth before moving through it. I also have gotten a complete dead-pedal at very high speeds a few times, even though I beat a GT-R at 140mph (with 2 passengers, hehe)
Sometimes the exhaust smoke looks white either when first starting up, changing gears and accelerating fast, and when boost spikes.
Boost builds kind of slow from vacuum to about 12-15psi, then it shoots to 25psi in an instant.
When I turn the headlights on (but not parking lights) my radio reception is distorted. I have HID ballasts for my headlights, and I think that may be the cause, but I dont know how to fix it.
In my images you will see something is hard-wired to my fuse box, WTF is that?
My HUD between gauges sometimes is not bright enough to see clearly.
The rear passenger reading lights stay on all the time.
I have a BSH catch can, but it stays completely empty-shouldnt it fill and have to be emptied every 10k miles?
I have a straight test pipe, not cat (yet). I bought the RAI downpipe with HFC, but when I went to have it installed, they found that because I dont have a stock turbo, they have to custom make some flange to connect it. One place gave and estimate of 500 for that, just the adapter, is that nuts? Im not even sure there is anyone capable of doing that work where I am now anyways.
There is probably more but thats enough for now.
