I posted my camchain owes on here back in December...I'm the girl who has the Audi A4 at 27,000 miles the cam chain broke which resulted in the pistons smashing and me having to purchase a new engine to the tune of $4800.00

Audi North America agreed to pay the additional $2300.00 due to the “low mileage and nature of the failure”

Last week I get the letter in the mail regarding the camshaft extended warranty.

My question is could this “premature wear” of the camshaft intake or cam followers result in the cam chain breaking?!

I have NO clue if these could be related at all? But I will say if it is even within the realm of possibility that this wear could break the chain….someone at Audi is getting out their pen and writing me a check for $4808.87

It'd be hard to prove but I guess its possible. The warranty is for the cam follower wear which you would need to check to see if its worn through, and if it is I'd try to argue that they were related but if you car is running 100% fine now, i'd probly say your follower is fine at 27k. Its worth inspecting tho, its located right under your High pressure fuel pump.

Thanks I'll have it checked out....the car is running like a dream now....and actually was right before it died. Still can't for the life of me figure out why or how this chain broke...but that will probably go unanswered. I do love my car and I'm trying to keep thinking this was just extreme bad luck and most Audi's don't have these kinds of issues!?

Why was that not free under warranty?

I thought the same thing, but if you look in the original thread from December it was about 2 months outside of warranty. Stinks that Audi did not cover more of it, but I understand that from their point of view it was outside of warranty.
